Nobody beats Chuck at it but Keith is definitely second. Ronnie Wood is excellent at it and John Lennon, though he's not rated that highly as a guitarist, was great at it as well.

They're playing it even slower than Chuck's original "Go, Johnny, Go!" film version, which was slow. And which is correct, it's a slow song. The story goes that Chuck wrote it on the spur of the moment as a B-side filler for the film.

The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK, to keep Mick Taylor in the band. For starters, they could have PAID him. He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals. In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not... With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY, Keef couldn't hold a candle to him. Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist. Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius. Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana. No doubt about it. The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics. The band was never the same after 1974.

I have seen the Stones live many times since Feb 1964 and Chuck Berry just the once, at his peak in May 1964. I have followed both like it is forever and never get tired of their music. To me, here, live at MSG in 1969, the Stones captured the very essence of who they are, a rocking band that can actually do Berry better than Berry when they put their mind to it. Queenie is my favourite recording on the Yas Yas album and I can never get enough of it. Bravo, Stones!

Love this performance so much and can’t stop listening-moving-grooving; it’s darn near impossible not to dance with that rhythm foundation Charlie and Bill are laying down. This has become one of my favorite performances of their’s, so very raw and unbridled plus all the screen time Charlie is getting, great to see him in action behind the kit, he flat out owns this!! Got a glimpse of Jagger’s side burns when he shook his head. Sideburns and long hair need a reawakening big time! Gosh I miss the look of long hair and sideburns on men I grew up with, very attractive. Keep on dancing-moving everyone, it keeps all of our parts in working order!! 😘

That piano in the background is being played by none other than Ian (Stu) Stewart, who was in the very first iteration of The Stones but was relegated to the background by Andrew Oldham because Oldham felt six members in a rock band were too many. So, Stu graciously accepted the position of The Stones road manager and all around piano player. By the way, nobody could cover Chuck Berry as good as The Stones did. They really do a fantastic job here with Little Queenie.

Kids back then in Jersey and NYC would go out dancing. Here comes a song performed by British rock band about the art of getting a dance partner. Jagger and the crew overlay their own creative style to it with that slow, heart pounding beat. And that voice! The Stones bring out the story in a way no one else has. And because of this, they make it a classic.

I'm with you brother. It sounds easy to Play but it's not. An a to a d to e with fillings. Having a front man like one Mick Jagger helps a bit too. You know I'm playing. Im a fan of , well all their stuff. But my favorite is beggars banquet. Waiting for a girl whose got curlers in her hair, she no money anywhere we get buses everywhere Waiting on a factory girl. Beautiful ❤️ I know somebody else digs this as much as I do. Talk to me

Playing these songs can sure liven up a dull party. Have quietly put it on to play numerous times and it always changes the whole attitude of everyone present. Music has always been an important part of my life……starting at the age of ten when I listened through my older siblings. All three of them had different tastes, which gave me a great appreciation for so many different genres. So thankful for those experiences! They mold your whole life in an enlightened way!!

"Ah got the lumps in mah throat when ah saw her cummin' down thah aisle......." LOL Jagger's transatlantic voice getting a fine work out on this. In my opinion, the best track on Ya Yas (with 'Rambler' a close second), effectively slowed down for the stage with the band all together and tight, rocking like a steam hammer, Keith pulling out the Chuck Berry licks like the true Riffmaster he is. Never get tired of 'Queenie', never get tired of listening to Ya Yas - and the vinyl sound is still the best (still got mine from 1970!).

Devastating news ths morning, as the radio guy said" it's a sad day as we remember Charlie Watts the Drummer of the Rolling Stones who has passed away overnight aged 80 " Charlie was a very talented Drummer, in a class of his own. One of the best and greatest Drummers. He was a very clever Graphic Artist as well. Charlie was a man of dignity and integrity. Faithful to his wife of 57 years, he never strayed. Apart from all of thiis, the best action he ever took was to punch Jagger in the face. " I'm not your Drummer boy, I'm The Rolling Stone's Drummer " Good onya Charlie!!
