Nobody beats Chuck at it but Keith is definitely second. Ronnie Wood is excellent at it and John Lennon, though he's not rated that highly as a guitarist, was great at it as well.

They're playing it even slower than Chuck's original "Go, Johnny, Go!" film version, which was slow. And which is correct, it's a slow song. The story goes that Chuck wrote it on the spur of the moment as a B-side filler for the film.

The greatest mistake the Stones ever made was not doing WHATEVER IT TOOK, to keep Mick Taylor in the band. For starters, they could have PAID him. He was given no credits on SEVERAL albums---in other words, no residuals. In addition, his mates should have helped him with drug addiction and got him the help he needed to stay with the band. They did not... With all due respect to Keith Richards---on Mick Taylor's WORSE DAY, Keef couldn't hold a candle to him. Make no mistake, Keith Richards is a very good guitarist. Mick Taylor is a GREAT guitarist. A guitar genius. Right up there with Hendrix, Clapton, and Santana. No doubt about it. The five albums he produced with the Stones from '69-'74 are all classics. The band was never the same after 1974.

I have seen the Stones live many times since Feb 1964 and Chuck Berry just the once, at his peak in May 1964. I have followed both like it is forever and never get tired of their music. To me, here, live at MSG in 1969, the Stones captured the very essence of who they are, a rocking band that can actually do Berry better than Berry when they put their mind to it. Queenie is my favourite recording on the Yas Yas album and I can never get enough of it. Bravo, Stones!

That piano in the background is being played by none other than Ian (Stu) Stewart, who was in the very first iteration of The Stones but was relegated to the background by Andrew Oldham because Oldham felt six members in a rock band were too many. So, Stu graciously accepted the position of The Stones road manager and all around piano player. By the way, nobody could cover Chuck Berry as good as The Stones did. They really do a fantastic job here with Little Queenie.

Watching Charlie Play during that solo was phenomenal. Him and Keith were just having a Blast. The look in Charlie’s eyes tells the whole story. God Bless Ya Charlie. 🙏🎵

@@MsSmitty9 I say at 1:50 you see Charlie, with his face tells Keith to start soloing, the same at 3:30 to ends the song. Charlie, in the shadow, from rear of the band, sets rythm and tempo. A true pro

Yeah Robert, perfect video clip wish we could have had this in the movie, all in their mid 20's here looking so cool, remember going to my local run down cinema to see it twice the same week in 1970. From that moment they were my rock n roll group,Although I have the DVD I'm upgrading to Blu ray soon for that little extra video clarity, pity we didn't have today's technology (Pic + Sound) back then, Charlie was an orchestra of drums with just one modest Gretch drum kit🥁🙏

I cant explain how it happened, but in one ear I could hear the Stones version of this song, while in the other ear it was REO Speedwagon's version- at the SAME time!! I could also hear my footsteps whooshing through the grass. Very detailed sounds. Unforgettable! 😂✌🏼🤯

Devastating news ths morning, as the radio guy said" it's a sad day as we remember Charlie Watts the Drummer of the Rolling Stones who has passed away overnight aged 80 " Charlie was a very talented Drummer, in a class of his own. One of the best and greatest Drummers. He was a very clever Graphic Artist as well. Charlie was a man of dignity and integrity. Faithful to his wife of 57 years, he never strayed. Apart from all of thiis, the best action he ever took was to punch Jagger in the face. " I'm not your Drummer boy, I'm The Rolling Stone's Drummer " Good onya Charlie!!
