The show Bonanza began the restaurant Bonanza. I worked there in high school in the 70's . For our small town with very few decent restaurants, the business boomed. The menu had great steaks and catfish on Friday. Decent desserts, but there was no tipping. Pretty disgusting.

I am 65 years young. Been listening to the Greatest Rock n Roll band The Rolling Stones since from about 14 years old. I saw them at Shea Stadium for my 30th birthday in approximately 1988. The stadium was bouncing and rocking so hard i thought it was gonna crumble to the ground!! You didnt need to smoke any weed to get high that night, just breathe!! It is amazing they are still together, much less still performing!! And Kieth has certainly beaten the odds!! Go Stones, keep up the awesome rockin!! Love ya!!

Turn the bass up and listen to his runs. The man traveled the length of the neck, up and down, and back up again. When he joined the Stones, he was 27. Five years older than the others. He was hired because he brought his own amps.

@Joan In Florida Ed Sullivan and his show were so important because that was all we had in those days. Back then, we only had three TV networks, and his show was the only place to be on Sunday nights, and what he offered was so unique. He wanted something of interest for all audiences. Rock 'n' roll acts, still controversial, were not included on other shows at the time. Ed included them. And Ed's insistence that individual artists or groups play their music live gave a freshness and immediacy to their performance. They couldn't fall back into the comfort of lip-synching their way out. They had to perform, live, what got them on that stage in the first place. And if you really enjoyed a performance by someone like the Rolling Stones, you only got to see it...once. No one had home taping devices in those days. If you wanted to see that same performance by the Rolling Stones a second time, your best hope was seeing it in a summer rerun. His show really was a Sunday night institution. You're right. A person today can't really appreciate it unless they were around back then.

@@flynnlizzy5469 since I was 10, mom made those decisions, she loved rocknroll , and took me to see 11 rock concerts, between 1965-67 ….( back then tickets were cheap, The Rolling Stones cheapest ticket was $2.75)…..long story, mom divorced from dad & living in different town 3 hours away, also she was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, dad didn’t realize that at the time until later, so if my dad knew this, I don’t think he would have let her take me……but no one around to stop her, looking back, I’ll never forget those concerts she took me too, and I still love 60s, rock…I can proudly say I saw all these groups at a young age…here’s who i saw: The Beau Brummels, Herman’s Hermits, Dave Clark Five, The Animals, Lovin Spoonful, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, Petula Clark, The Supremes, Mojo Men( they only had the one hit) Sonny & Cher , Them, & Rolling Stones…..

If it weren’t for Britain, the oldies stations would be playing Pat Boone and The Singing Nun now. USA rock fans were willing to let rock & roll fade, regarding it as only a fad. There’s the off-chance that maybe the Pacific Northwest scene (The Kingsmen, The Sonics etc) would have exploded and filled that vacuum similarly, but I doubt there was sufficient critical mass for that to happen. The Brits not only saved R & R from oblivion, they reinvented it while preserving rock’s rawness and coolness. I’m saying this, and I live in Texas, with no personal connections with the UK.

The Beauty of this is how awesomely RAW it is, ....yes it's 1965, so there's really no technical "polish" put on the audio, it's LIVE television, this is "strap it on, and go for broke" also for some FYI , this is their return performance after Ed Sullivan had vowed he'd never have them back again after their October 1964 show performance, some due to their "appearance/grooming" and also how crazy the audience reacted, parents wrote to CBS and complained .....but , Ed Sullivan, also was smart enough to recognize these guys were the "real deal" , just as important to showcase as the squeaky clean Beatles, DC5, etc. By the next time they returned (in color also) in '66 they were kings, ....Beatles, Rolling Stones, DC5, The Animals ....Kinks, what great time to be a teen!!!

Thank you for this great video! At 69 years of age I vividly recall the British Invasion of the 1960s. Groups like the Animals, Kinks, Dave Clark Five, etc. really blew us all away. And than you had the Rolling Stones who were in a class all by themselves. If your parents frowned upon the Beatles, they for sure hated the Rolling Stones! But like so many of my peers, I loved them, and still do...! What a great time for music!

Mick Jagger has a very distinctive voice that was made for Rock 'N Roll. He is a real natural for this genre. The most amazing thing is that he has so many different voices for different songs. He was the difference-maker for the Rolling Stones became one of, if not THE greatest band ever.
