Good Example of a song where the bass is harder to learn and play then the Guitar part :)

One of my favorite aspects of your videos is your economy of motion. I've been playing for 10 years and I still look like I'm struggling or flailing around wildly a lot of the time, whereas you make it look simple and effortless, even on some tricky basslines. However, it also makes it child's play to pick out the parts based on your fingers, so thanks so much for that! It almost feels like cheating :-)

I feel the same. Also playing 10 years. Was a guitarist turned bass. Wish Infusion was facing more towards the camera on this one. Can't see too well. I always use his though if there is a choice!!! Go infusion!!!! Any chance of doing this one over? :-)

Good! Most tutors incorrectly play the same notes and timing as the fuzz guitar riff. Makes me crazy! This is the correct notes, timing and groove. Kind of a counterpoint against the riff👍
@brookhoover138411 жыл бұрын
Good question. A lot of us learned back in time when there was no tab. We had nothing but our ears, a record, a tape the radio, a guitar and time plus desire. Knowing your notes up and down the neck is not a bad place to start. Basically you just slide your finger up a string listening to the notes until you find the right one, then move to another note. Slow, but possibly a very important way to learn verse instant tab and clips. Gives you more confidence! Try it, you'll find the notes.

@spacepatrolman i know her history, i kinda share it being a former jazz guitarist myself. I started playing bass a while back and loved it. i just think the pick no pick debate is pointless i'm just as comfortable playing either way depending on the style required. I just think that most people dont realize how many of their favorite bass lines were actually played with a pick

Learned this quickly but the only problem i am having is where the pauses in the song followed by Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I cannot seem to get the main riff into time from the pause for some reason.
@fukiu515410 жыл бұрын
Count. 1234,123 and then the run is B C# D# and then you start the main riff again. But counting is the essence for any proper bass playing
@SKINDEREE10 жыл бұрын
It wasn't the counting but starting off again was just putting me off and i couldn't get it right.

@raptor36100 It's odd to figure out musics by ear. I mean, when you can't you think "how this people know how to play by ear?" But then when you start to teach your ears, suddenly you just figure out how to play, like a natural feeling :)

@spacepatrolman Carol Kaye one of the most recorded session bass players of all time used a pick
@TeamMastaPr213 жыл бұрын
@MrNorbi14 @infusion26 According to me, I have a balance use between pick and fingers. However, it mostly depend on the song (if the bassist played with pick or not). ... and @AFreezerKx So Paul McCartney is a noob by using a pick?
@Stephanmortensen9010 жыл бұрын
The reason to use pick is for a sound with my attack and treble.. MCcartney played just aswell with fingers. His sound is with pick.

What is your sound set up for making KZbin video's? I just bought a Logitech C310 webcam and the sound sucks. I just ordered a CAD U37 microphone but haven't recieved it yet. Just wanting to get an ideal of what others do to record themselves playing along with music on KZbin. Any help is appreciated...

it sounds ok to me mate... although i play...3 times on the E 7th fret of the A string....then run down from 4th fret of D string..to 5th fret of D string then on to 7th fret of D string...then do it in reverse....i always look at how you play things and i think you are great keep it up mate....
@infusion2613 жыл бұрын
@thibagon Sorry but I don't use tabs. You'll feel much better about yourself if you figure it out on your own than if you use tabs (which may be wrong anyway) Just try listening to it and you'll figure it out This allows you to get more enjoyment from making music.
