The Romance of supporting Argentina's Oldest Club | Quilmes AC | Los Cerveceros de Quilmes

The city of Quilmes is 20 km south of Buenos Aires and is best known for its world famous brewery. The Quilmes Atlético Club (QAC) football club was founded in 1887 and is the oldest football club in Argentina.
Today the QAC is considered an "elevator team", but despite the misery, the supporters stay loyal. With flags, drums and vocal support, they turn the curve into a madhouse week after week. In the film, the fans - the so-called cerveceros (beer brewers) - express their passion and love for their club and present a view into the soul of Argentine football.
The film is a joint project by Andreas Geipel, Franz Sickinger and Shooresh Fezoni.
Nominated for the German Reporter Award 2011 in the category "Best Web Reportage".
Nominated for the Axel Springer Prize 2012.

You have to make a video about Rosario Central...oldest club outside Buenos Aires (foundation in 1889) with one the largest amount of fans (6th nationwide) and with many titles (4 championships, 1 international cup, 1 Copa Argentina). Igual no es el primero. El Quilmes de ahora se fundó en 1897, el de 1887 es otro Quilmes que no tiene relación con ellos. Hasta fines de la década del 40 todos los documentos de AFA y de Quilmes dicen que se fundó en 1897. Después empezaron a chamuyar y la mentira quedó hasta el día de hoy.

This is at least, 10, 15 years old. Anachronistic, when away fans could go to te stadium (you can actually see the cars, many stadiums, trains, etc, everything has improoved since then). The football scenario has changed A LOT in the last 10 years here in Argentiina. You just cant take those statements as if it were today. Yes there are still things you can apply, yes there exists this sentiment for the club, although there are many, many fans who decided to quit football because of violence, because of maffias, because of bussiness, and got into other sports, like rugby... No, the thing got worst every year since then, and the panorama is way different. Once you ve lost a fan, how can you convince him to get back and love football like the old days? what if hes simply not interested?

Nada q ver Jajaa, la cosa está igual, los autos, las canchas, la violencia, no cambio nada. Lo único q ya no hay visitantes y es un bajón. Es más, ahora q no hay visitantes la gente se agarra a trompadas con los del mismo club.Y el sentimiento sigue siendo el mismo, solo a la gente q no les gusta el fútbol cambia de deporte. Si te gusta el fútbol no podes cambiar de pasión por x razón.
