Bad Chad

Күн бұрын

The roof chop continues on this 5 window truck... we need to manipulate the door tops to fit. The windshield angle has changed completely so this could be tricky. Bad Chad has successfully chopped the roof WITHOUT having to cut the roof in half. This is officially the CLEANEST and FASTEST roof chop, ever. Thanks to the Dirty Devil's car club in Adelaide for having us! 👏

chop a roof in 3.5 hrs [still the required welding but roof is secured abck on] with a live crowd,unfamiliar equipment,no coathangers and to do it leaving no massive bare metal grinding...weld the rest of body then let it rust you;d never know walking past it in the street.. i truly enjoyed the chop series.5 star entertainment .TY to Jolene for 5 star video,we never missed a second of action

I am definitely a fan of Chad and Jolene, more than anything, because of his ballsy "just go for it" attitude. Yes, there are some of his methods that I wouldn't use in my work, but this is HIS work and I think the biggest takeaway from this channel is "Do it however you want, but just DO it". If you don't like his methods, don't use 'em, come up with your own. But in any case, put on your big boy britches, go out in the garage and cut something! Weld something. Paint something. The feeling of pride in having done it yourself is huge, and is what they communicate on this channel!

Those old 'pilot house era' Dodges/Fargos always have potential but the cabs always looked goofy compared to their contemporaries. Their roofline was always awkwardly high. Perfect candidate for a chop, should look great now. Glad he chose not to get to aggressive with the chop.

The door tops were going to be hard which ever way you did it , the curve started close to the base so it probably worked out for the better that he could shave it down and start on the correct angle, loved it all , don’t like the haters with big ego’s saying they are so much better , they have no idea how few men could work like that in that circumstance. Chad & Jolene are unique with their openness and work ethic on display in real time . Happy hard work is paying off for them 😂

I'm not quite sure how you equate doing something faster with being better at doing it. Just because someone does something faster doesn't mean they are better. It just means they are faster. Everyone works at their own pace. Some people will never be able to complete the same task in the same amount of time as someone else. This doesn't mean they aren't as good as the that person it just means they don't work as quickly. By all accounts the work you do looks very good and I admire how you are not afraid of tackling any issue. But, just because you are faster doesn't make you better. It makes you faster.

Just because someone can change an engine faster than someone else, does not mean they did it better. I am no expert. I do not have anything like your experience. So a genuine question. Rather than the hard cut in the window frame of the doors, would getting the correct shape be easier by cutting multiple triangular slots, bending the frame to close them up and then welding, like one might do to bend wood, or perhaps square tube rather than the hard cuts made here? Maybe that's not suitable but I'm curious.

@aaronmycar9166 25 күн бұрын
@@Rob1970s, thanks. I guess i just figured that cutting further down to cater for the drop, rather than in the curve of the window frame would make it so it could be pushed forward to match what was done with the pillar. I'm only learning and not about to chop/drop. I'm about to extend a cabin by 6" to create myself some pain instead. 😂
