I haven’t watched this episode in a while but this is what I think the context is: Harper, the female police officer, recently transferred to this station, and spent time with her daughter, Lyla, whom Harper’s ex husband previously had full custody of. During one of these bonding sessions, Lyla told Nyla abt a ‘ghost’ who walked past her window at night, so Nolan and Harper waited to see who it was, and it was this woman in the vid

Female cop is Nyla Harper, Male cop is John Nolan. Nyla transferred to the mid-Wilshire Police Department to be near her daughter. Her daughter’s father and Nyla are split up, but the little girl complains of seeing a ghost at night, and hearing screaming. With Nyla being a cop, the father contacts her and asks her to investigate for the kids peacefully of mind. Nyla and John get to the house and say hi to one of the neighbours. Nyla and John stay to keep an eye out and find this old woman, the so called ghost. The woman explains her dogs death, so Nyla and John leave the scene due to no criminal activity. As John is about to leave to go home, he sees the dog. When he walks up to the house the dog is near to, he sees a man inside, bound and gagged. This is at the neighbours house. The neighbour runs out and hits John with the frying pan so that he can’t tell anyone about the man bound and gagged. John wakes up gagged and tied to a pipe in the roof, hanging down by his hands. We learn that the man that is also bound and gagged is the neighbours brother. The neighbour says that he has to kill John so that he doesn’t report him, and he stalls by explaining why different murder methods wouldn’t work. Soon, Nyla discovers that John’s car is still outside, so she investigates and looks through the open window of the neighbours house finding an almost unconscious John and the neighbour. She breaks in, John frees himself, and Nyla arrests the neighbour.
