I’m right with you. I had a very similar past. I had a profound experience while praying the Rosary and my whole outlook on life changed in that moment. All the anxiety, fear, hate I had in my heart just melted away. We are truly blessed to have had such an awakening experience. Suffering makes us appreciate God’s Grace and Mercy in a special way. God bless.

@@jeffjacobson59 good luck Jeff. Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet is also profound. I think praying also helps to remind us of others and show mercy to others in our prayers, otherwise we get stuck in our heads (ie. it's all about me!).

Thank you Father for the wonderful heavenly speech I would say. It taught me to love mama Mary more, I was actually cooking and put it on loud speaker, I couldn't control my joy, I was singing to her ( to a statue of her in kitchen) and was dancing to her overjoyed. I knew a lot of what you were preaching from other preachers but there were more. In addition this was God sent for me. I am experiencing blockages and crisis in my life and was literally asking which is the prayer I should pray more, (my choices were- reading Bible, rosary, blood tear rosary, divine mercy chaplet etc..) I got the answer after watching this. I know it from the joy I experienced while listening to this talk. Ave Maria.

I’m 13 years old and about 3 years ago my mom bought me a rosary. I would pray it with her but I really didn’t understand why we pray it. Now I’m trying to dig deeper in my faith because mom told me about this channel. (2022) She also bought me a how to pray the rosary booklet and it had way more information than I thought it would have , but I’m glad. Sadly my rosary broke on me but luckily mom has been receiving lots of rosaries from the mail and each is unique. I told her about my rosary breaking , and she gave me one of her rosaries. I used it in my spare time , but it didn’t feel like it was mine and that little fact annoyed me until I had ( perhaps Mother Mary, God, or Jesus gave me the idea) a great idea. To make my own rosary. So I did my research on tying note for a rosary. In about 2 days I finished it and it was spectacular I was so proud of myself , but I realized that I needed it to be blessed and that’s what I asked the priest to do. Another step complete. I’ve used a couple times now but the last not wasn’t tight enough and it broke on me. Now I’m currently replacing the string with a longer one so I have more to use and taking my time. So far I only have one decade complete. I also used the Hail holy queen and cross from my old rosary for my new one. I feel like I’m doing something very good so I can pray it more with understanding and focus on our lady.

If I had one thing to pray for. It would be my dysfunctional family and broken family and it's true. Now why exactly is my family dysfunctional and broken? Well the answer to that is both my older brother and my dad had several verbal arguments in the past few days and a week. And as of this past Thursday my older brother decided to pack his things and move out of the house and live with my mom at her house which I highly commended him for. And now both my brother and I had enough of dad and decided not to talk to him. So here's what I did. I added my older brother and my dad on my Rosary prayer list that in the hopes that Jason and dad can make peace with each other and reconcile and hopefully the family therapy will become helpful and useful.

I wasn’t a fan of the Illuminous mysteries but as I pray and meditate on them, I see them as a window into future events. A new baptism, a great miracle for future believers, a new proclamation to the kingdom, a transfiguration of an almost unrecognizable church and a newfound reverence of the most holy Eucharist! Thy Kingdom Come! Maranatha!

I find the Luminous mysteries to be a great connector between the Joyful and Sorrowful mysteries. I joked with my friends once “We go from little baby and lost child to adult about to get brutally killed for our sins. I think Jesus did some stuff in between all that, but I could be wrong 🤔😅” Happy to hear you are giving them a chance! May you receive the fruits of those Mysteries! 🙏

@YAJUN YUAN Again, you didn't watch the whole video. I explained the repetition part in detail, even using the scriptural example of "Holy, Holy, Holy." I also explained in detail that the repetitious prayer referenced in scripture is that to pagan gods (which Catholic prayers are not). Sorry, I don't have time to argue with you but again, if you watch the whole video, not just part of it, it is explained in full. If you still don't watch it, maybe watch this one as it explains why your understanding of Catholic teaching is incorrect. Thank you Fr Alar for your explanation of the Rosary. I feel what you say is true.Every I say the Rosary, I start yawning and sometimes even fall asleep. I know it is hard to say 20 decades daily but I try my best because of a favor granted to me by Our LADY who answered my prayer that a friend of mine be converted. She died of cancer but was baptised about 1 1/2 months before she died. The miracle was that she asked for the Rosary to be given to her. To cut a long story short, now by the love of my LADY, I have added the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy to my daily prayers at 3 pm. Miracles do happen if we ask for HER intercession. GOD bless you Fr Alar.

Father Chris thank you for this awesome explanation of the Rosary of our Most Blessed Mother. I try to pray all 20 mysteries everyday and sometimes more. I find myself meditating on other parts of the Gospels like the parables and miracles while praying the rosary and thought that I might be doing something wrong but felt like it is a grace. I love ❤️ the luminous mysteries and now the prodigal son Good Samaritan walking on water healing leper’s and the blind etc. will be added to these mysteries. I continue to pray for you and all of your family and that explaining the faith will continue 70 times 70🙏❤️👀⬆️

Thanks so much father Alar for such a great teaching on our faith... i'm a cradle catholic but never been taught the rosary in such concise and scripture rooted prospective. the main issue we're facing in the church is the teaching. our faith is so rich we're sitting on a gold mine when it comes to faith and we must be aware of it. i'll do my part from now on to share it.

In 2018 our daughter left home to live in the streets. She no longer wanted to live in a house that had some rules and she lied about her family to the police . I don’t know if she believed her own lies or whether she was bearing false witness to punish us for the way her life has turned out. The Rosary is the only consolation. And yet I neglected to pray it as often as I should. But I begun again and ask Our Lady’s forgiveness for my complacency. I want our daughter to talk to us again . I want her to remember our Catholic faith and the love we gave her . I want her to come home to us . We have missed so many birthdays . May Jesus and Mary through the rosary restore her sanity and bring her back to the Catholic Church.

At approx. 59:45 into the video, Fr Don mentions Saint George Preca from Malta. I am from Malta and as a young boy, I remember Dun George Preca passing in front of our house on his way home. I remember my mother telling my sisters, who are 9 and 11 years older than I am, to cross the road and go ask for his blessing as he was already considered a holy man. My mother never allowed me to cross the road as I was too young at that time.

Fr. Chris, thank you very much for this explanation. I was born Catholic and I am so thankful to the Lord for making me a woman, a Catholic, and a Filipino. We started our elementary education at Dominican School in Manila ( My sisters and I finished our high school education at St. Scholastica’s Academy in Marikina ) and it was there that I learned to pray the Rosary. When I was in the first grade, we prayed the Rosary and for some reason, I was the only one who can recite the Hail Holy Queen completely while my classmates forgot some of the words. Thank you for that piece of history on how and who started the Rosary, that it was St. Dominic. I am once again encouraging my teenage sons to pray the Rosary with me because it is very difficult to encourage teenagers nowadays to pray the Rosary. My husband and my youngest son still refuse to attend masses at Church despite our churches being so clean and safe despite the on going pandemic . I hope that someday soon I can talk them into going to confession too. God bless you for helping me to grow more spiritually. It is the only good thing that happened to me during this pandemic. A friend introduced me to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy years ago and I am hooked in praying that too. I was able to buy the Diary of St. Faustina and your book Explaining the Faith at the Marian Father’s house in Quezon City last year.

Don't forget this, Father. We repeat our prayers!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village; and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands upon him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men; but they look like trees, walking.” Then again he laid his hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and saw everything clearly. - Mark 8:23-25

I myself have prayed the daily rosary in the morning or in the evening. And whatever mysteries there are. I. The Joyful mysteries II. The Luminous Mysteries III. The sorrowful mysteries IV. The Glorious Mysteries. As a Catholic Christian and a knight of Columbus, I have a deep spiritual connection with the Blessed Virgin Mary. And she smiles at me when I pray the rosary. And I created my own rosary prayer decade and it goes like this, “Immaculate Heart of Mary, give peace to the world and convert America 🇺🇸.” Now there’s a number of things I would like to point out. 1. The rosary itself is not a form of idolatry. 2. Each time I pray the rosary, I feel Mary’s divine intervention and motherly care. And no, I feel no shame of praying to her. 3. Various Protestant Christians say that praying the rosary is idolatry but I disagree. 4. One group of Christians known as the Jehovah Witnesses have tried to persuade me to become a member of their organization and have me leave the Catholic Christian faith. If they questioned me about me praying the rosary, they would say like. “Alan, praying the rosary is a form of idolatry and you should leave the Catholic Church.” 5. My older brother doesn’t like it when someone says to him that they’re going to pray for him. But you know what? I have him on my rosary prayer list and I continue praying for him.

Thank you, Father, and thank you, fr! This would have helped me so much to pray the rosary sooner. The Hail Mary and the mysteries that relate to Mary that aren’t in Protestant scripture or tradition hung me up, so I began by making substitutions to appease my conscience. I said the our father, then used the glory be, and meditated on other mysteries. When I became educated on the different types of prayer (worshipful, versus asking anything of anyone, living, dead, or spiritual, praising anyone for anything vs praising spiritual beings, prayers that are simply recitations of scripture, prayers that are ordained vs intentions of them). Finally I dismissed all the objections of the willfully ignorant and uneducated hypocrites, because either they don’t know and can’t speak on it, or they only pretend to believe in a supernatural spiritual realm, an afterlife, or the power of prayer at all. Many Protestants live and talk like deists, gnostics, and atheists regardless of how pure and exclusive they are in their quoting of diminished scripture. I decided to ignore them and pray the prescribed rosary and soon after, I began to find Catholics coming into my life, so I had people I could ask to help me convert. I’m in rcia, I’ve gained insight into sins I never realized I was guilty of, been empowered little by little to improve my virtue and ability to withstand temptation, and seen my own personality become less angry, more patient, more selfless, more eager to help, more willing to make sacrifices, more perseverant, less fragile, and more trusting of God, even when afflicted. Im grateful and appreciative instead of entitled and demanding. Today I have a cold and didnt feel I could recite the whole rosary aloud, but instead of skipping it I read the mysteries silently and prayed one Hail Mary mentally over each along with the other prayers. I only did one because it was so much harder mentally than by muscle memory. But I didn’t just blow it off because I believe powerfully in its benefits, and I want those spiritual fruits in my life, and I don’t want infirmity to affect my love and gratitude to God. I remind myself of Mary’s role as the ark equivalent and the crusher of the serpent, and I feel this prayer brings me sanctuary and liberates me from demonic powers that confuse me spiritually and keep leading me away from the Lord.
