As a surfer/climber I hear people in the water talking about splitter conditions and I know they don't climb. How little they know.

2:20 why was the cam set that way? just a sloppy placement or no placements? Thanks for the videos, I love the content! you inspire me to throw my hands in some jams!
@mynameistimpark3 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to how it's near horizontal? The sling looks fully extended and tense before he picks it up, so my guess is that it just re-oriented a bit from rope drag after the next gear placement
@nehnehnehbatman3 жыл бұрын
@@mynameistimpark yeah that's what I'm talking about. I understand that you can fall on it but cams should always be set in the direction of the fall as well.

What if we all just started finding out what routes Tyler was going to be on, and then left pro on it so we could make sure nearly every video we'd have him saying "BOOTY!" LOL ;)

I am new to climbing, how do they atach the rope to the rock while climbing?
@orifilofilo3 жыл бұрын
they are using a device called "climbers friend" wich is 4 cams that shrink trough pulling a trigger and expanding inside the cracks sides.

I’m new to climbing. How unsafe is the rope laying over the rock at 12:18?
@thomglunt3 жыл бұрын
In this context it's fine but would be very bad if this was a top rope with the belayer on the ground.

what does the B mean in the climbing grade?
@somanayr3 жыл бұрын
b means harder than a. Grades 5.10 and above break down into a/b/c/d
@SpitefulAZ3 жыл бұрын
@@somanayr is that in addition to the plus or minus i see at my local climbing gym?
@axeljacobsen55673 жыл бұрын
@@SpitefulAZ The +/- is just a generalization - so sometimes people will grade something 5.10-, as in "easier 5.10". You could think of it as 5.10a/b i think? tbh climbing grades are entirely subjective - you will probably hop on a 5.11 that you cruise through, and absolutely struggle on a 5.10-, just due to different climbing styles and aptitudes.
@SpitefulAZ3 жыл бұрын
@@axeljacobsen5567 I've noticed climbing grade difficulty are inconsistent between out door and different gyms. I've never seen a gym use abc, though, so I'm just wondering if out doors use plus minus in addition to the abc. Or maybe that depends on the area also. Like Yosemite will have abc but Joshua tree will only have plus minus.
