The og steel phantom was next level rough. Everyone talks about the inversions which were the most painful inversions I have ever been on but they were smooth in comparison to the boomerang turn at the bottom of the 2nd hill. They reprofiled that for phantom's revenge, but it was basically a horrible arrow transition at close to 90 mph(they clocked it regularly on hot days hitting 90...) With classic arrow over the shoulder harnesses. I'm thankful every time I go to Kennywood that Pittsburghers hate change so we got phantom's revenge instead of a new ground up coaster 🤣🤣🤣🤣

You probably know what I'm going to say: BGW's Drachen Fire is the headbangingest coaster I've ever ridden. It was a genuinely great layout that could have been a world-class coaster in the hands of someone equipped to execute it properly. But it was a ride of pain to the extent that it didn't last long.

@@Jason_Maier I’ll actually give Arrow a pass for that one. It was originally supposed to be designed by B&M but they were too busy with Kumba to take on the project. BGW turned to Arrow instead who tried to give the park what they originally wanted with their take on a B&M style coaster. Obviously they failed but they failed with good intentions.

The pre-brakes part of Anaconda should be part of the layout of whatever replaces it. I've legitimately grayed out on that sidewinder. The stuff after the brake run, I've always suspected, was designed to need as little maintenance as possible because of how it's over the lake, and they probably have been skimping on keeping that part well maintained in recent years.

Smart! Anaconda has the potential to be a 5 or even 6 looper. I’m thinking maybe a pretty steep straight drop into a bat-wing before the corkscrews. Also, they need to turn off the mid course so it would go faster through the layout.

I’m not a coaster enthusiast in the sense of making my way to American amusement parks (I’m Canadian), but I’ve been to my fair share in the PNW, California, and Florida. It didn't rattle it it bounced on the tracks likes a poorly maintained wooden roller coaster, only it was going 70 MPH. The "airtime" hills at the end made every male on our train vocally grunt as we went over them and got racked. Our entire party agreed it was the worst experience of our trip. When it comes to rough rides, I believe Great American Scream Machine comes to mind. The only ride I got on GASM was on my 12th birthday in 2010. It beat me up quite a bit, but I enjoyed it, and thought it still had a couple years left to go. But alas, a couple weeks later, it closed forever, and was demolished, only to make way for another rough ride, a relocated B&M Stand-up, themed to a DC Superhero in Commemoration of a film that failed miserably. Six Flags should've gotten a B&M Wing instead, and maybe given Scream Machine the Alton Towers Corkscrew treatment. Oh well. Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland is another rough-as-hell coaster I've ridden, although this was recently, back in September 2022. It was my first time riding a Vekoma SLC and I truly expected the worst. It indeed was as bad as everyone said it was, and I'm glad I didn't bother to go on Time Warp next. Flight Deck was bad I imagine T3 might be even worse. Another rough Vekoma I've ridden months prior was Goudurix at Parc Asterix. The ride wasn't as rough as I thought it was, but it was still pretty rough. I thought it was ok. I just braced myself for those terrible transitions, especially on that Butterfly inversion. As for any other Vekoma coasters I've ridden, I'd say the same for Superman-ege at La Ronde. And I rode that ride in August 2019, just a couple days before it closed forever. And those are just the steel coasters. As for the roughest wooden coasters, I'd have to go with Mighty Canadian Minebuster at Canada's Wonderland, Le Monstre at La Ronde, and perhaps El Toro back in July, just a month before it had an accident again.

I'll defend Goudurix. I only rode it in 2019 and found it smooth. Others who rode it that year also noted it was riding better. Apparently they did something to make it ride better.

You just made me happy I never got on rainier rush - I feel like the one time I was going to get on, it was a busy period, mandated two riders and wouldn't match you. I wasn't in the mood finding a stranger to ride with me, and passed to go on classic coaster again.

i remember back when i turned i think 16 or 17 back in the early/mid 2000s my folks took me to vegas for my 1st time ever. i rode that big apple coaster 26 times back to back.. how i survived i don't know. oh anaconda how i still hate you for my last ride back in june of this year. i learned the hard way if you a tall guy like me don't take the even numbered rows.. your knees get stuck against the seat in front of you, and you feel like they are broken we you get off. so stick with the odd numbered rows for a better ride.

T3 just needs to be scrapped. Last time I rode it was 2008 when it was still Six Flags and it was horrible. I got jerked so hard around a turn that I was falling out of the seat. No joke, an entire butt cheek was out of the seat and I was kinda knocked sideways. I doubt it would have been possible to actually fall out of the seat but it was terrifying nonetheless.

I’ve got a defunct trifecta coming from a defunct AstroWorld. Ultra twister , Batman standup and Texas tornado . Pretty much the most painful day of my life . AND they had an SLC which was actually better than the 3 mentioned lol.

Ironically, opening months of Fury325, 2nd row outside right seat rattled the hell out of me. Most all other seats are butter smooth, I strictly ride row 6-8 on the left side. Goliath at SFOG is rough the first 3rd, the rest is amazing. Dominator at King's Dominion from row outside left rattled the hell out of me on a cold January day. Rode Vortex before covid expecting to get rattled and I got lucky it was silky smooth. Nighthawk wasn't so bad when I rode it in February.

Joker's Revenge at SFFT/Jester at SFNO would almost certainly be on this list if you had ridden it. It was worse at SFFT, because someone had the great idea that the stupidly rough Vekoma should run *backwards*.

Diamondback at KI has a pretty severe rattle in the back row. Especially on the green train. I refuse to ride rougaru at CP though. Every time I've been talked into riding because I brought a friend, I get off with a migraine.

I nearly blacked out repeatedly while riding Rip Ride Rocket at Universal Orlando, and not in the "intense G" way - just through sheer blunt force trauma. The shake was so bad that it it felt like my brain had dislocated.

Shockwave at KD. That thing was torture. The worst was also when it broke down on the chain lift and we were stuck there for 30 minutes in the sun. It was 100 degrees that day. So glad that it got replaced with a Discovery. So much more fun

If you're wondering why eurofighters and B&M floorless coasters are roughest in the front row, it's because the front row is actually the zero car.

Rip Ride Rockit would be on the list for me. That thing shakes and rattles so much while on the course it has given me a headache. They should do a retrack or replace it with a different coaster.

I sent XcreamThrills the comment that was meant for him but accidentally sent to you. Time Warp is the worst metal coaster I've ridden. I've also ridden Ninja when it was called The Scream Machine at Expo 86 in Vancouver anywhere near as rough as Timewarp at Canada Wonderland, but it was brand new back then. I've ridden Thunderbolt at Coney Island once, and had a problem with the restraints; perhaps if I learned how to ride it better it would've been a better ride.

Its often the wheels. Steel coaster wheels are replaced frequently. You get a train with brand new wheels, smooth ride. Old worn wheels, rough ride.

My worst was Scream Machine at Great Adventure the year it was closing (2010). My best friend and I marathoned it before the park closed. What a beating that was but we were younger then. And the Runaway Train cars there are not only small and difficult to fit into, but that combined with it's bucking bronco jerks and lurches makes for a pretty rough ride indeed. More recently my best friend and I got slight concussions on Rougarou at Cedar Point this past September from the head banging, and that pretty much ruined the following 2 days we spent at the park. We were with our mutual enthusiast friend visiting from Brazil who always insists on front rows. We also took a "thorough" ass kick on Magnum XL200 (again, front row thanks to you know who). The jackhammering especially through that last tunnel was BRUTAL. But we got our revenge when we took our Brazilian friend on Steel Vengeance and he was so rattled that when he got off he ran to the nearest grassy area and tossed his cookies. 💥💥💥😎😎😎 To this day I laugh with glee at the very thought of it. But don't worry. We all plan to do it again in 2023. 👍👍👍

Although it’s my favorite coaster and most of the ride isn’t that rough. The second Raven loop on X2 messed my neck up for about six months the first time I rode it lol. I’ve been bumped around on the buffalo bills ride and the one at New York New York but they never made me need a chiropractor 🤦🏼‍♂️😂. The same thing happened to my brother when he rode his first time too. That being said I’m not sure if they changed something to make it smoother or I’m just ready for it now but I haven’t had that happen since.
