I really enjoyed our video. Thank you for showing the changes you made as you went along. Being a beginner I enjoyed seeing what could go wrong in your build and how you can change things as you go along and it is okay.

16:04 I used a metal fish tank stand that someone had put out as trash, it looked very nice and clean. And i was trying to figure out how to add draws, what you just did sliding a pre-made cabnit into the stand solves my problem perfectly.

nice build, my winter shop project is a new router table using the jessum top, lift and motor. you should checkout the routerbit holders at lee valley, basically they are plastic(abs) sockets that can be screwed to any surface or onto an aluminum track. once mounted on the track they can be moved around easily. it's a great system especially if you have lots of bits

as i said a month ago, i'm doing a new router table. i bought the jessem parts: pholic top, fence, router lift and crosscut slide. i went to their factory in new brunswick, canada last month while on vacation, great place and people! one question though, how did you fasten the top down to your cabinet? the jessem top has a bunch of predrilled holes that allow easy fastening to their steel stand using supplied screws. i am considering using those screws and holes to mount aluminum angle strips that can then be screwed to the cabinet back, sides and dividers. now i have the jessem stuff, i can't wait to build a set of drawer fronts and doors!

Sweet! Send me some pics on instagram. I didn’t secure my top. I never got around to it. I have used a perforated angle iron on my old table and it works fine. But the friction fit keeps it in place

25:45 plexiglass door, the holes you cut out fir air movement You can take a small pocket butane Torch and heat the edge of the hole And it will smooth out the markes the hole saw made, you might sand it down some but you can get it glass smooth like it was buffed.

Nice looking router table, I would make 2 changes. Mount the switch on the side in a plastic switch box And add a real right hand draw. More bits storage. Also on right and left sides add fold down wings for long parts.
@foxhallww311 Жыл бұрын
The bit storage idea is good. I might do that.

Nice build! What is that fence sled you are using for cross cuts on the table saw?
@foxhallww3117 ай бұрын
That would be the Jessem cross cut sled

Nice build. I have the same top and fence so this is perfect so I bought the plans. But I have a few questions. I see that the width of the base is 30 15/16" while the width of my router fence mounting flanges are 29 15/16" wide under the table. I see at time stamp 5:25 your mounting flanges do "fit perfectly". My Jessem phenolic top is 31 7/8 wide, perhaps yours is different? Also, the Bora router that you link in the description looks like a beast. How is that working for you?
@foxhallww3117 ай бұрын
Funny story about the bora. It died. So I bought a spin right router. Which is basically the same thing. spin Right makes the bora router. But the router is fantastic! With every penny. I need to update the link. Also I think I have the first version of that table. So your measurements might be off slightly. Thank you supporting the channel!

Awesome router table you've built. I guess lots of your audiences are chainsaw users. I'm wondering whether you would like to talk about a collaboration that can help lots of chainsaw users. Hipa supplies parts and consumables for chainsaws and maybe we could collaborate to help more DIYers know our webiste that would help them source the parts and chains they need easier and affordable?

did you just screw a flat bottom on a draw you put a drawer bottom grove in?
@foxhallww3113 ай бұрын
yeah I needed taller drawers but the stock I had was pre-made drawer sides. I had to adjust the height and I wanted stronger bottoms so I used 1/2" material for strength.
@foxhallww3113 ай бұрын
they are premade drawer parts. They come with a groove already milled in them. I needed stronger bottoms so I used 1/2" plywood.

How did you attache the top

It’s not attached. It’s a friction fit.

15:06 It works don't it. I don't see a mistake, just a learning lesson learned.
I was into it and then almost skipped it when I saw pocket holes. But i'm still here. Dude you got skills, why use them. Does a raggedy pocket hole look bete than a row of well placed screw heads??.. I'll shut up now. The lag bolts saved you.
@foxhallww3115 ай бұрын
nah Pocket holes have their place. I am definitely not using pocket holes to assembly a table top. Now, these pocket holes screws are designed to use with 2x material (construction lumber) and are incredibly strong. I use them for any shop project. I also only use them if I can hide them. i also use the HD Pocket hole screws to hang cabinets on a wall. That's how strong they are. I have used them in several videos.
