What a bloody gorgeous ride. I use Calimoto and have enjoyed some great unknown trips . A bargain membership price also. You didn’t say the name of the reservoir that you stopped at. What a ride and wow what a view….. please keep them coming. The wife and myself love your trips and this one was a beauty. To us soft southerners you live in stunning surroundings. I had a 1 piece nylon waterproof used over leathers in the 90s, when I did my Power Ranger on a plastic missile impression,very light and small,when rolled up, also had a girl friend from Lancs, I remember visiting her parents in Paddiham, and Edenfield and Loveclough, where she grew up, also visited Bury, Pendle, Clayton Le Moors, and all around that lovely area, Cheers DINO and Ze Tribe.

Great views , "look at that" is unavoidable on rides out where the scenery is like this , 👌, the weather caught me out two weeks ago coming through Rochdale , I had my Oxford two piece rain suit in my pannier bags, but the rain came down that hard and fast I was soaked through by the time I found a safe spot to pull over and put them on ,so I thought sod it and just carried on! 😅😅

Saying “wow look at that” is just unavoidable when we’re presented with such stunning views. You might call it an occupational hazard, much like getting caught in a thunderstorm..! I went along the same road from Halifax to Hebden Bridge. Smashing old Yorkshire village names. 👍

Ah, that's another nice ride, if a bit damp! If you're in the border region without your passport and get hungry, try The Causeway Foot, an inn on the A629 (Keighley Road), about 4 miles north of Halifax (HX2 8XX). Great food and welcoming staff. Good place to pass the time until the rain stops, too. There, how's that for a personal recommendation from Western Australia? 😀

That ride reminds me of when I did my DAS course. I think it was day 2 of the course and we were out in the countryside on a ride when the heavens opened and it absolutely slotted it down. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse we then had a hailstorm with hail the size of peas (a large mound of which gathered at my crotch between the tank and my gentleman's area) and it began to thunder and lightning. I really started to question my life choices that afternoon 🤣 The instructor said that if the weather was like that on the test day it would be cancelled. Come test day and it was overcast but not raining.....right up to the point where I had to do the emergency stop and u-turn, when the heavens opened up again. I think the previous experience in the rain a day or so before prepared me for it thankfully and I aced it (which was a relief as I was struggling with u-turn in the lessons).

Getting caught in the rain? Reminded me of when I first started riding on my Honda 50! 🤣 Managed to keep ahead of the rain for a good few miles. Could see it coming down in my mirror about 20’ behind. Then was stopped at lights and boy did I get a soaking!! 🤣🤣
