I used to love watching Heartbeat and The Royal. Both unfortunately left us on a Cliff Edge on both last episodes. 😔

Such a disgrace from ITV to end both Heartbeat and The Royal this way. In both shows it remained more or less unclear what actually happened to the character, did he survive or not. However, at least in Gordon's case, we SHOULD have reason to feel some relief.. Later in The Royal Today Jonathan Ormerod refers to an advice from his dad (Gordon). It means Gordon must have survived this.

I met Linda Arstrong who played Sister Brigid in February 2014 in the Old King,s Arms in Horsforth where I live. Her husband took a photo of me with her using my phone. The photo is enlarged ,framed and on my mantle shelf. I didn,t realise it but I,be known one of her relatives for some time. Great evening!

These were two of the most heartwarming shows that ITV, made, and they have made many. often these brought tears too our eyes, from Heartbeat to The Royal, and the way they worked both together, I have watched hundreds of episodes of both, over the last number of years, more so than I ever watched them when first aired,

as they have brought back Doc Martin, I hope they will bring this back too. we don't have many decent british shows and wont if they keep cancelling them

they brought Doc Martin back for a final series which ended with a Christmas special episode where Martin understands what his mum and Dad did to him during his childhood by doing this he finally shows his feelings to his Son who finally got to meet Father Christmas

I really don't like this episode because it's the last ever and they leave all my favorite.characters on cliffhangers. I mean we don't know if Gordon dies or not ( I hope he didn't) if he did die how it affects Jill plus this is the episode that really tests sister Bridget and yet all we get to know is that Gordon been operated on and both Jill and sister are really upset!!!! Personally, I feel a little robbed.

This is all wrong! How can the last ever episode end like this? I shall just have to imagine that good old Mr Rose 'and his pipe' sorted Gordon out. Such a shame they didn't make anymore seasons of the Royal...It's SO Good!

The thumbnail shows Sister Brigid tending to a patient and through the window you can see the sea which if you know the area where the building is that was used for the exterior shots then you would know it would be impossible to see the sea that close because of the Clock Tower and Putting Green on the south cliff along the Esplanade near Holbeck Road. The reason for this is that those scenes were filmed inside the Grand Hotel looking out onto Foreshore Road.

We saw The Royal last night, (here in TORONTO!) and they've backtracked on the episodes and we now have the young DEAD doctor suddenly being introduced! We want real, PROPER continuity and BTW same for HEARTBEAT! Might be a different channel here but Constable Crane died 3 weeks ago, the following week he's right as rain and instead of Gina mourning her baby, she's PREGNANT again! It's ANNOYING unless you just don't care about us viewers?! And in lockdown it's even more welcomed! And again, BTW M.A.S.H. reruns have NEVER done this and stayed with proper CONTINUITY. Take a leaf! Hazel
