Finally, after months of waiting, the massive RSI Polaris warship is here in Star Citizen! NovaCore came together to tour every corner of this incredible ship: the brig, medbay, cargo bay, and hangar all amazed. Then, fully manned, we took the Polaris on an epic test mission, going head-to-head with an Idris! This game just took a huge leap in what’s possible, and we’re absolutely blown away!

This ship only reinforces the reason for having NPC crew where they would automatically handle the functions of the ship. You really need a group of friends/players with the same schedule as you to effectively use the Polaris. The ship looks great and looks to be a great ship out in orbit of a planet where other players could launch operations from it and have a good respawn spot if they die. Players will an active group will be happy.

Yeah sadly the footage from the battle was cut because it all happend during repositioning the cameraman ;D. That one Polari went straight next to the Idris shootign its torps point blank. But servers were supper laggy. All movements were basically teleports.

As a NOVA member.. this is one of the only reasons im debating keeping the polaris lol.. for group events like this. Otherwise its just a bit TOO big for me lol, tempted to melt and downsize to a perseus maybe. So the co pilot seat ALSO controls the blast shields for the hangar (the ramps you walk down from the doors) and you can fit about 6 (yes six) Anvil Arrows in the top hangar. More realistically you can fit 3 or 4 and have it be easier to handle. Considering how many people you need to crew this ship properly 2-3 arrows is probably all the crew you can afford and then just have them respawn on board if they die. Just make sure to spread your spawns between beds and stagger your respawns. Also the beds are tier 2s though I expect all med beds on ships to get rebalanced. A bed like the Carrack's oughta be a Tier 1 and the rest of those like Tier 3 or just casualty placements for medical crew to work. Polaris beds should absolutely be Tier 2s like the Nursa or C8R, as they currently are. In the armory there is hidden little storages and the buttons to release you from the lockers actually work unlike some ships (M2, etc). Lastly depending on the shard you are on little things like the lift interfaces, cameras, etc will not work. I was able to basically use every feature of the ship on a good shard.

The side buttons in the copilot seat to open the doors aren't for the turret doors. Middle button opens hangar door. Each of the surrounding buttons opens and closes the blast shields in the Hangar bay Coolant temp is also -272 Celsius and you will die in it The Polaris beds are Tier 2, not Tier 3

This thing can tank 2 hammerheads, 2 corsairs, and a constellation simultaneously. Took out all of them just with torpedoes and the size 6 cannons. Only my front shields were in the red by the time half of them were disabled. I dont think arrows would even tickle the shields after 10 minutes.

Yeah when we showed up, the Idris already had an engine nacell blown off and was smoking. By the time I did my suicide EVA over to it's front hanger, there was fire all over inside the hanger bay.😊

There is no 60fps in citys right now i think. But in space and away from very dense areas its ok with medium pcs. But on their website you can check out the telemetry page where they have all hardware and fps listed tracked from playes over past days always updated.

The Idris battle was the save Stanton phase 4 mission. At the moment you can just claim the ships in the next Spaceport and use it after 18 mins as if nothing happened. This will change at some point but for now thats how it is. In the future using theb ig ships comes with extra costs for insurance and maybe taxes and higher repair costs etc. But we are in alpha so it makes sense how it is now.
