THE RUDE PEOPLE FINALLY GOT TO ME! ALTERCATION AT THE BINS! Thrift With Me at the Goodwill Outlet.

Shop with me as we look for unique items to resale on Mercari, Poshmark and Ebay at the Goodwill outlet bins. I wan't to apologize for my actions I should not have done that. But this is the second time that people have done this to John, and I just snapped. I do not condone my behavior. I wanted to show what happens at the bins when two people want the same item, Things get heated sometimes. But on another note, we did find some great stuff!

People need to be considerate of other people I recently went shopping here in New Zealand with my husband and our autistic ADHD son anyway he runs around the shop making loud noises and a security person that worked there came up to us and was like is this your son my husband was like yes the guy says to us nah that's ok I thought I should let u guys know that there were some customers complaining about your son being too loud and making too much noise I was like he has special needs he understood that and told the customers to not worry about the noise that our son can't help it being loud and that it's not his fault he told us he kicked the customers out that was the first time that someone was on our side that someone supported us for a change instead of people giving us ugly looks staring at us I will never forget what the security did for us.

Goodwill marks up their items in stores to high. Nobody buys them and then they send them to the bins and create this mess where everything gets broken. Seems like a slightly flawed system

Ya. I agree. They get the stuff for free, it’s used and sometimes broken/ruined and they price it high. So disappointing for low income people and the workers. Low end clothing and dollar general type merch should be priced to move quickly.

It is just as clean as digging through a dumpster. I stopped donating to Goodwill a long time ago. The CEO makes two million a year.

I don't think I could look in the bins. My OCD would have me trying to match up the boots, putting all of the game pieces back in the correct boxes, gathering all of the broken glass and trash out, etc. I'd end up being there for hours 😂😂

So im actually an employee at a thrift store and basically YESTERDAY a lady got kind of mad of our "no tag no sale" policy. This means if their is no tag on any item we cannot sell it and it must go back to processing. Well my sister (who also works with me) had a lady who complained about the policy by asking if a manager can get a price on it. She explained the rule that she cannot do that and she was not very happy about that. Hear me out this happened ALL THE TIME. Kid you not. My goal is to get promoted to keyholder soon so i can show people that i am stronger than i ever was as i suffer from anxiety, depression and ADD. I wanna show i can do anything even when i suffer from mental illnesses. Following the rules of our store atm is my main priority. But (i really dont mean to be rude at all but its a selected few) when you get old people like that who are bratty and want their way like you had to deal with, they blow it for everyone else, including employees. Now thanks to that lady yesterday, we have a new rule. So basically my boss (whom also is a complete jerk to) said to all the keyholders in a text "i am very disapointed this is the third complaint about not being able to sell things due to no price this week." He then went on about the new rule which is if ANY item does not have a tag, a manager must come to the front and price it. At this point it is what it is. The problem with my store is people are peeling off cheaper tags or tags that are a specific color on sale and getting it for lower so people r probably gonna do that with the no tags to So at least i am not alone in this loophole. edit: that lady? Oh yea, just saw she wrote a 1 star review for our store. Totally bashing my sister for the policy as she was being rude and stuff and saying it was going to someone who is homeless. My sister told me it was nike pants and i garantee because of the brand thats not where its going. (Not to be mean to them at all its just the review and that was so uncalled for). I swear my sister was polite and everything about it and she made it sound like my sister was being rude! My boss of course must of read the review or something because the response from the owner said "this should have never happened" WHEN HE MADE THE RULE UP!!!!!!!

Imagine if you just started singing, you've got the voice and music soothes the savage beast. When I was young and not a Christian yet I was mad at a lady that honked at me, then she got out of her car and came toward me, I was scared by then, she came to my window and said, "God loves you and so do I"... I had people grab stuff out of my hand because I couldn't told onto it very well. Yesterday a fight broke out about a back pack or something. People punching people at the Salem bins. Some of the older or long time shoppers at the bins feel like they are entitled or owed and bend the rules.

Someone on here inquired if that is the same lady who was very rude to John last time at the bins with the hovercraft? I was wondering about that as well. John handled himself in a calm terrific way. That lady is the one who made a complete ass out of herself! I'm sure others saw that, which she should be embarrassed. Also, I think you were great as well for speaking up and letting that lady know that was totally unacceptable behavior. I think around Christmas, people can get really horrible at times. John nailed it with the train in the box never opened! That is awesome John! A positive came out of a negative situation. That kit box that John got that has the compartments is awesome! What a great thing for a repair tool guy like John! BTW, that is terrific John fixed the Lava Lamp! I love your porcelain teddy bear couple figurine. That is so cute! The book ends are awesome! Also, that little Garfield is adorable! I think I had a larger one like that when I was a kid. The pumpkin jar from Harry and David is beautiful! Then there was that electronic piece in there?! LOL! Isn't that amazing! You never know, its treasure hunting. That horse picture for 10.00 dollars is beautiful, I totally agree with you. Finally, I saved the best for last in this post your singing!! Robyn, that was beautiful! You have a great voice! That was a special treat to listen to you sing those Christmas songs. Christmas has such an amazing array of fun, and very beautiful music. I'm from Toronto, and I will only donate to not-for-profit thrift store, a one hour drive. Over the years I've witnessed far too many wrong, dirty and sneaky backdoor deals at the thrift stores. I could write a book about the pure greed that went on. The Goodwill stores closed down years ago due to corporate corruption and the Salvation Army had its corporate issues. Sadly flea markets and antique malls are disappearing due to selling out to developers. Online sellers are finding difficult as people don't have money to spend on stuff.

I was very pregnant and was carrying some water jugs to the checkout when a man in a scooter came zipping in front of me. If he would have hit me, I would have been really injured. I had another old man chew me out for parking in the handicapped parking and it wasn’t even my car. It took him more energy to chase me down than it would have to just go where he was going. Plus, I actually would qualify for handicapped parking and so would my son I just don’t for that reason… we don’t look handicapped. More trouble than it would be worth.

I worked for e-commerce for Goodwill. Horrible greedy company. Mainly people buying to sell more online. Some of the stuff is to gross ! Mold and ugh. It’s just sick. And their prices are a bit for people that can’t afford much.
