You know what really gets me about the Rumbling? The fact that something this scale is still pretty imaginable. Its not like other shows, where the energy beams destroy cities or a villain is hurling a massive energy ball which will wipe it out. The sound of these footsteps, crushing people, the gunfire, everything just paints a scarily realistic picture. Edit: Its easier to imagine it if you see the Titans like natural disasters or carpet bombing a city.

I feel like the most horrifying part of The Rumbling is the lack of what the Wall Titans are doing. They aren't punching buildings to destroy them, they aren't leaning down to voluntarily crush people with their hands. They're just... Walking. That's all they're doing. Walking. That's all they need to do to kill everything. They probably can't even perceive what's in their path. Humans probably don't even register as ants to them. It's just a path. One made of mankind rather than stone or dirt.

There wasn’t gonna be a perfect plan where everything goes well and no one dies. The Euthanasia Plan is the most peaceful way to go, as it’s not outright killing the current Eldians, it’s just sterilizing them so they won’t have children. Which means they can just live their lives in peace and eventually die out in peace. Zeke technically wasn’t serving Marley either, but was doing what he and Mr. Ksaver thought was the best plan.

People who can't wait to see this animated.. tell me, have you imagined how the events would play out? What it would look like? The emotion you would get from the music playing during it? Especially at night.. with the sound of gargantuan footsteps, (think back to the sound of Armin's), you can't see what's happening, you can only hear the sound of footsteps and destruction of infrastructure and you might not even hear the latter over it, never mind any screaming. Hospitals will be kicked apart with every able bodied person running away, leaving patients and newborns who can't escape behind in the slaughter unless their families go back for them. Prisoners won't understand what's happening as they mistake tremors and screams for an earthquake as the building is crushed and kicked apart. People will likely be shown walking on the streets and sidewalks of Marley just like they were when Grisha took Faye outside the Liberio internment zone. To them, it'll be another normal day as they talk on their way to work and school.. only to look up towards the sound of the rumbling before they break out into mass hysteria and flee. People in houses, businesses, schools and other buildings won't realize what's coming as they're kicked into the opposing wall as the building collapses or explodes from being stepped on. At day, noon, and night.. anyone with a car will run out of gas and try to run in vain from the titans, others will try to climb over shuttered walls, (similar to the one in 131), and gates before being trampled underfoot, or.. they're merely diced to pieces from debris and shrapnel of exploding or kicked apart buildings. I saw artwork of a man fishing on a pier as the heads of the titans steadily rose from the waters in front of him as he ran.. And I bet we'll see whether or not the Tybur family is able to escape or not.. (This is just my idea of all the things we could see from this being animated, what do you think?)

The one thing this chapter told me, even back when it came out, was that the World Union has garbage tacticians... that, or in their panic, they didn't consider that it didn't really have to be an all or nothing stand there. They could have moved those heavy guns further inland in the day they had so that they would be firing from higher positions, and their warships could have been positioned closer to land so they could force the titans to emerge before firing. At least that way the warships would have done some damage, maybe even bought the rest of the army some time to position themselves in more advantageous positions. The issue then would be killing as many titans as possible with the artillery pieces they had. Given the unspecified number of titans (though one calculation had them at 500,000), and the range on their guns, I think it's possible to have at least kept some areas safe from the rumbling. Maybe even managed a stalemate... unless Eren transformed the rest of the Eldian population into titans or something...

I honestly prefered the sound effects in this version since there was no music to intensify the realistic part of the rumbling. The soldiers also screamed for their lives unlike in the anime and the footsteps of the rumbling was overall louder here. Plus the siren added a lot
