Super intrigued by what Hoka has done! I wanna put on the Mach Supersonic and see what that feels like. I certainly have been a Mach 4 lover. Hoka has responded to the complaint about their mid-sole material becoming outdated. Those orange colorways are bomb too! Go Hoka!!!

Evo speedgoat IMO was one of the greatest running shoes I’ve ever used. Hopefully the speedgoat 5 has some of the magic because it was sad how quickly that shoe got discontinued and became out of stock everywhere.

I'm thinking that it's kind of like how, before the Boston 9, Adidas had a Boston 8 with Boost + EVA, and then there was a Boston 8 with Lightstrike. But when Adidas did that, they didn't change the name of the shoe or make it look any different. you just had to be real careful when selecting one color way versus another. It seems (and I will need to run in the Supersonic to be sure) Hoka has updated the Mach 4 with ProFly+ but is also giving us a new model to try. And who knows, maybe it becomes it's own forked version of the Mach in the future with a more distinct identity.

Some really exciting options for 2022. Some fresh looking options, Puma Fast-R looks very different, Saucony Pro3 with more stack feels like it’s solved the issue that was putting me off. New Balance SC’s and the Rebel 3 also looks like shoes that I’ve not been on the fence about now looking more attractive to me. Hope you enjoyed the event, it must feel strange to be back around so many people again.

Shocked to see that Hoka didn't put any rubber on the Mach outsole. Early signs of wear was the one and only bit of criticism anyone and everyone had. Hope that new foam is more durable.

Thank you so much for posting this! Asics is doing really big things foam wise. I’m very excited for Flight foam blast in all of the daily trainers wonder if the lite series is going to replace both the Kayano & the nimbus. The Mach 4/ supersonic was really nice just not durable for the price and it seems like that’s unchanged :( despite looking really nice on paper but 150 is expensive for the category it’s in. I’m also really excited for Reebok I absolutely loved the forever energy 3!

I think the Fast-R is going to be exhilarating in a somewhat scary way. The Shift, at least in terms of design, looks like it’s super stabilized with a lot of rigid elements that may not agree with my footstrike

The EVO Speedgoat answer was kind of well yeah meh meh. I guess there is maybe some problem with the availability of the MATRYX material? Or pricing?

Possibly? I don’t know though. Those theories don’t really add up either. It’s not like Hoka is afraid of pricing a shoe high or making very limited production runs. Until some of the SG and SG Evo die hards try the SG5 and weigh in otherwise, I believe the rationale that the product lines have merged. I mean, how much have we all talked about how there are too many similar shoes in various brands’ lineups?

@@kofuzi Sure but for racing you want the lightest shoe. And yes the SG5 will definately be my ultra racing shoe for 2021 but the EVO was lighter :) And durability wise the MATRYX was great

@@kofuzi And not only talking about the Speedgoat. The EVO Mafate was THE ultra shoe. Then came the EVO Mafate 2 and the EVO Speedgoat was even lighter. This year they brought us the Mafate speed 3 that was definately not a race replacement for the EVO Mf2 :)
