Thats half of the battle - Getting help from the hotel management - Just watched a Y.T. film where a guy booked into a hotel to investigate a murder that had been commited ! - But the guys every move was being watched by the hotel management - he thought his room had been searched while he was out and was even threatend with being kicked out for carrying a camera - Makes you wonder if something was being covered up really does ! guys I was just reviewing this documentary and I had my headphones up loud and something caught me by surprise when I started listening to all of the evps one of the evps caught me by surprise when one of Russell Rushs groups was in room 636 and they started asking for the girl to give her name in the EVP it sounds like she says the name Lisa very close to the mic this is what my ears picked up on I wanted to ask retired detective Fuentes to review the evps from this video

I picked up a whole lot off of this video. The first thing I picked up was the same feeling as Aperture Science, that Lisa was a young male, mid 20's in female clothes, also worked the streets. That Walter knew him from Army and the young man moved to Texas so he could live his life away from his family, and not have to deal with the shame his family felt at the way he was. I also picked up that Lisa was dumped north of the El Tropicano in the water and was wearing a small gold locket that can still be found to this day, stuck in the mud. The man that helped him was either the manager, assist manager or Bar manager (someone of authority) of the El Tropicano, Walter had drank with him. And they knew each other well, somehow from the pasted. The reason this all started was Walter wanted Lisa to help him kill his step father or father for money, and she/he wouldn't do it, even though she owed Walter pay back for something he did to help Lisa. He got very angry and just snapped. He didn't realize he snapped Lisa neck, he just want to choke her and scare her into helping him. When he realized what he had did, it took him a while to figure out what to do. The key that was returned, was returned by the manager's daughter on the request of her dad's death bed confession, to return the key so it didn't haunt him in his death. Their is still a old hooker out there that knows about this. Just put a ad in the paper asking if anyone who knew about this murder, would like to clear their conscious and tell their side, with their name kept between just the two of you, and give them a mailing address so they can write you a letter as they will be easiest for them. I hope this helps some, and if you start looking into who the managers were, when they died, you find one concedes with the key. Which might give you some more answers. I stayed at the Gunter Hotel unknowingly. Only odd experience is that one morning, the toilet kept flushing on it's own like 4 times in a row. When I went to check it flushed a couple of times, despite the handle not moving. Once I touched the handle, the flushing stopped.

I love this documentary. The guy at the library seemed sarcastic or like he was hiding something. It made me curious as to why later on in the video the library decided it could no longer help with the investigation. Maybe I read too much into things. Great video by the way! I just wanted to say that we are currently staying at the Gunther on the 8th floor, and early this morning around 3:30 a.m. we went to the 6th floor and were shocked to see that room 636 is still there! Wasn't 620& 621 the divided replacement for 636? We were shocked! Also, as we were trying to record some EVP and attempt communication, we heard screaming in the hallway EXACTLY what was you guys caught on your end. We were able to hear it clearly and it scared the crap out of us! I kept saying out loud how sorry I was that this soul was suffering and that if we were disturbing it, we could leave, and the screaming stopped. I will NEVER forget it. The motion sensor in front of this room 636 was going crazy and that's when we had first heard the screaming, it sounded like it was coming from further down away from us down the hallway. I will see if any hotel staff will be willing to answer any of our questions as to why people are being told that rooms 620 & 621 is the old 636 room renovated into 2 rooms , when room 636 is just right across clear still there and still exists

I stayed on the 6th floor in 2016. I actually forgot the room number we were in. Usually I'm a very calm and collected person, my friend I was staying with annoyed me so much I actually had a physical fight with him. Felt like the whole time I was there my mood was different, I was so negative and angry. Never experienced anything like it since. Maybe a coincidence but who knows?

A lot of it will depend on how or if it was stored over the years, also they do make Wigs for Women and Men, Stage performers etc. out of Human Hair so its possible that the "Hair" while being Human might not even be connected to the Victim. At least its something to keep in mind. In 1965 DNA was still thought of a "Buck Rogers" or "Starr Trek" Future Fantasy so its unlikely any real evidence was kept that might lead to anything as far as testing today but its a good idea. It never hurts to ask or try. I only answered since I was replying to a comment for me and read yours thought I would help out. The owner seems to have forgotten or abandoned this page all together.

This was an interesting story I just happened to stumble upon. I bought a vacation getaway from Wyndham and the guy was giving me options and I told him that I wanted to be in the way but not in the way by that I didn't want to be right on the Riverwalk. I've been to SA many times but never the older district. He recommended the Sheraton Gunter Hotel so I curiously looked it up just to see the location and saw that it was deemed as haunted. I joked with the guy during my booking and after the call proceeded to look up stories about the hotel and came across your documentary of the hotel. I'll be visiting soon and I'll make a point to go by the room just to see what I feel if anything at all. I wonder if people can request that particular room upon check in just to kind of get a feel of the sinister presence that makes this hotel haunted. I'll let you know of my experience. Stayed there Jan 27 floor 11 . Didn't know the history of the hotel and didn't want to know untill I left. I slept with the TV on because the hotel had on odd feeling. At 2 am the hotel phone started ringing really loud woke me and my husband from our sleep. We didn't get to answer the phone because we were thinking who could be calling us at this time in a hotel ??? About 45 minutes later the phone rings again this time I answered and all I could here was static 😳. I said hello again and static. Went back to sleep feeling creeped out . At 4 am the phone woke us up from our sleep again ringing my husband answered then static again. I did not rest well felt like I was being watched. My mother-in-law also had a restless night hearing noises and the alarm clock was making static noises

You can find people and divers with sonar technology that is not the police it could be pricy but they won't pull out like the library or the forensics people cause someone asked them to. Which I don't understand why they would do something like that on a murder that just don't make sense. Like they're keeping something quiet. That old man with the hat at the end. Maybe find out who his friend was in High School. I'm sure it was a small circle. Could be the possible driver and the dude who kept the key that was haunting him all these years. Look in the pictures and see if he was standing next to anyone. Especially the class photo. Look to see who was on the left or right of him. People tend to stand next to their best buds yeah? That is not helping. 2: If you want to know if the victim was named "Lisa", why not try to focus on getting her to talk? 3: Why did they not research if there were any of Walter's family that went missing? Well there is a lot of assumptions made that could well be wrong or biased. The crime scene itself suggests two distinct suspects their MOs one organised methodical the other disorganised and panicked. The act of shooting someone in a hotel room is rash a spur of the moment heated argument kind of thing disorganised Walter. We know from the maids visit there was a body in the bed and no blood so the victim was still intact then, suggesting the killer didn't know what to do again disorganised Walter Then you have the act of chopping up the body removing it from the hotel transporting it and getting rid of it... Organised, methodical the accomplice. Finally you have Walters screw up caught in the hotel by the maid, instead of killing her he runs leaving a significant amount of evidence in the room which is disorganised and panicked. The method of body disposal was a deeply grim and physically and mentally difficult task very difficult for one person I think so Walter would have needed an accomplice and that accomplice was either deeply invested, very loyal or well paid and not squeamish and never came forward after, this points again to someone Walter or the victim knew well or was very close to. There is an assumption bloody small footprints thought to be a woman... Can't be the victim... The victim wouldn't be walking would they? We know from the maids first visit the room wasn't bloody so this suggests the footprints were made during the er... Disposal. But considering that you could well assume the organised MO would be undressed to chop up a body so your suddenly faced with looking for an accomplice with small feet. Four bottles of wine, sardines and smelly cheese, cigars is very odd I think Walter and his accomplice got good and drunk, and they might have used the sardines, cigars and cheese as a cover for the er... Other smells, this again points to an organised, methodical MO the accomplice guiding Walter. Lastly there is something glaringly obvious a tall blonde woman you'd think she would be missed... Unless she wasn't missing. Go back to the small bloody footprints in the bathroom lipstick on a cigar, the women's stockings but no other female clothing so who is to say she was the victim? There is only blonde hair and no body only the assumption he killed a woman. She could well be the organised, methodical accomplice and you could be looking for a different victim... If he was gay he could have been having an affair with her husband being at the time a woman with a gay husband murdered in a hotel would be a devastating total scandal and she could well have decided it better to cover it up. She could have then just have told everyone he had left her waited an appropriate amount of time and gotten the marriage annulled. Sorry for this long assed reply...
