Holy crap; just when I thought, now that’s a good technique, freaking Master Machado comes out of nowhere! 👍🙇♂️

Holy SHIT the first technique was already great, but the second technique (especially for nogi) is just AWESOME. I have been looking for a solution to guys just tightening up when under mount and this is perfect!

Wow. I can usually keep mount for a while in a roll but I can’t do shit submission wise. I usually try to pry their arms free and end up wasting a ton of energy or getting swept. Definitely gonna try pinning the arms to get to S-mount in class tomorrow, especially the way Mr. Machado demonstrated with the arm bar. Seems like a solid technique for sure

I have had this problem when I’m weaker and can’t do anything to stallers so when I’m stronger I still pretend I can’t get the arm from top. So I just try to hold position until something comes up and risk getting swept. Yes in real life I can punch but This is a great jiu jitsu answer to my problem.

Can ANYONE advise whether or not the S-Mount position is a good position for self-defense situations? I'm not interested in the submission aspect but more interested in the hold them down until the police arrive. Is this position for pinning better than traditional low mount or traditional high mount for this type of "pin and hold" situation, considering it may be a weaponized environment? Thoughts anyone?
@jayblackburn35532 жыл бұрын
So my question to you is if you’ve ever been under the S-mount? If not, I’ll tell you It’s absolutely miserable! I think it’d be a great way to keep someone completely still until the cops show up for sure. You definitely have to rep it a ton tho, there’s a lot of ways to screw up your transition and get dumped on your back. Especially if the guy is super strong

A gift-wrap is preferable for your goal, but the S-mount could work.

But, how would your knee consistently beat their elbowpressure down and towards their own feet? I think this seems unreliable.
