My sister was a rug hooker and used to go in retreats. We would go buy wool together. I bought an old wool penny table mat at the antique store today. It’s so cool. Have fun creating. It’s the best feeling ❤️

Enjoyed the retreat recap! What an amazing group on designers and fantastic projects you had! Linnie, when you talked about your gloves for church I also flashed back to remembering my Mom wearing and having beautiful gloves and having them as a young girl, especially for Easter. Hat, little white gloves and a full skirted (twirly) dress. I remember an Easter we were playing in my Grandmas’s garden and I caught my dress on a rose bush and ripped it. I was afraid to tell my Mom. My Mom wasn’t scary but I knew she’d be unhappy with me. I love the symbolism of the heart in hand. Look forward to that pattern being released in the future! 🪡

Good morning Joni. Thank you for sharing your time with us and kind remarks. Yes this year is flying by. Before you know it I will have to bring out my broom because I’m stitching all Halloween. Right now I’m working on Blackbird Midnight Watch. It’s a fun stitch but is eating floss. I did it on 25 because I wanted it big but much bigger than I thought. Oh well it will finish really cool. You two ladies are quickly becoming my favorites. There is always so many things to learn and see. I am also starting the monsters on the preprinted fabric and I am probably the only one who tried to use a hoop at first but beware as it leaves a crease that shows the white under the color. Therein, I bought some fabric to add to the bottom as it would not fit into my frame without more fabric. Good luck with that cute pattern and show us your progress. I would have used the word scary for the autumn pattern with the squirrels. They terrorize us by eating everything...our fencing, our outdoor furniture and even gnawing on the house.

My friend who lives in the country has rampaging squirrels too. I do see them come up to our patio sometimes to chew on the plants but for the most part they stay back near the birdseed, and I enjoy watching them from a distance.

Oh my goodness, I love you gals. I just started cross-stitching again after a 25 year hiatus and am loving it. Of course you all help with my new obsession. 😊 My autumn garden is full of mums and sedum and sage as I live in North Western New Mexico but there are plenty of spiders to go around. 😂 The retreat looked amazing and I would love to attend one someday. Hi Angela. Yes gardens do get scary this time of year. The 10 count project did turn out pretty cute. If you do a project with it make sure you use a tapestry needle because otherwise the needle falls through the hole. It does take extra floss but it’s so fun to stitch and you can make a fun pillow.
