What I find admirable is the fact that even if it's a song played within a theatre play, everybody in the audience got up and stood to attention. I don't think there are many other nations that would respect a song, other than their anthem, that much. And it is a song that deserves respect. Not a great fan of Russia, but hats off, for their patriotism.

People did that when I was a kid when we went to the cinema and they used to play the National Anthem. That got expunged by PC, like so many other nationalistic customs and practices. Russiand do it at New Year and other occasions. It's very stirring and what we really need now. Which is why PC GlobSoc interferes and bans it.

Fun fact: This song was written in 2 days. Seriously. The sheet music was done 2 days after the Nazi hordes attacked, and the first performance was 2 more days later, at a train station sending troops to the front line. When it comes to culture, the communists are unmatched.

Numbers are truly horrific but it’s not 80% of male population. Every family in USSR did lose someone including mine. Out of 100 males born between 1921-24 only three or four were alive by the end of the war. Perhaps that’s what he was thinking of. Like I said, horrific. And this song like that war is Sacred for all Soviet people

@@marekptasznik1402 I agree. Russians are wonderful. However everytime, when I remember how men, women and children sacrificed their live in hopeless situation during the Warsaw uprising, the initial sadness over "senseless" loss is overrun by the idea, that thanks to their sacrifice, your nation has an obligation to live in freedom and in the way you people would honour their lives. It is a little hard to explain, but I think, that their bravery wasn't in vain, as the message of their deeds gives strength to other generations of Poles

@@Martina-Kosicanka Agree, we have long history of the uprisings. Nevertheless, what Russians did cannot be matched. I am proud to be Pole, still I must acknowledge heroism of the Russians.

The sacrifice of Russians\Slavs to the World is true and undeniable. They died massively 27 mil. of them but look they do not talk about this as Jews. Jews did business out of their war victims and they do this to this moment.
