I've had jobs I thought were "bad" at the time, but that was mostly me not appreciating them as I should have. Those jobs for me, like Jeff's example, were jobs where it seemed like I wasn't in the best position to apply my particular talents. For example, I worked in a warehouse where supervision customarily amounted to walking around the floor pumping people up. I wasn't good at that at first, and I wanted to stay in my office analyzing data, but I knew that both were important. That job gave me the opportunity to exercise weaknesses as well as finding creative opportunities to apply my strengths. In this particular case, I was able to use my floor time to teach others about the data I was collecting and analyzing, and once I found that combination, I really enjoyed it.

If everything’s bigger in Texas, I hope the BeatiDudes take the BeatiTinyTable with them on their first out-of-state road show. I’d hate for them to have to sit at a non-Texas-sized tiny table.
