Decades ago I read that Grace won the Oscar because she was going off to become a princess and it was good publicity for the movie industry! Most insiders back in the mid 1950's wanted Judy Garland to get it for "A Star is Born." Maybe Grace winning was just seen as a publicity push? I've seen all her movies and I like Grace Kelly but she was average as an actress. Till this day I can't believe Grace and her father had to pay Prince Rainier two million dollars for her title of Princess!! Rainier was cold and badly needed the money. Grace was a social climber. They only had a few dates! Maybe Rainier's friend Onassis wouldn't financially help him? I've been to Monaco and I highly recommend it - clean and helpful little principality 😊😊😊.
