The sad part is… the kills you get are very minimal to placement points. That’s the biggest issue, as well as matchmaking. The game now encourages ratting and gives zero clarity to matchmaking and points for kills/ skill points.

I agree man, regardless of rank, my lobbies are full of pred or master stacks, and being a solo it's kinda tough to rank up with this mmr system - teammates are pretty unreliable, and mostly everyone goes for skirmisher, so establishing a good endgame play isn't easy, and well that wouldn't be such a problem if half of them didn't just heatshield rat till final ring. And - elimination bonus is hardly a thing - so 0 kills vs 10 kills doesn't make too much of a difference atm

That means now - unlike before - you can be in Silver and go against Preds. The matchmaking system has changed, so those who are usually masters and preds need to stack if they want to get to those ranks again. Not just me, Stormen was saying this too on stream today. So if you don't trust me and 70 others who upvoted my comment; trust pros like Jankz and Stormen :)

Devs are aware. Preds don’t like playing against other preds, they’d rather get 30 team kills against people that aren’t as good as them. Devs make it this way so that the preds can get their high kill games without feeling like dorks for three stacking pubs, even though it’s just as bad.

Reporting does nothing. The game facilitates this. They put silver players into lobbies against preds. What do you expect them to do? Report Respawn, not the players. There was a video from Hal that showed something absolutely disgusting. When he was three stacking with premade preds of similar tier to himself, all his opponents in ''Pred'' lobbies, were silver/gold. The highest his squad killed was a one time plat. The game is just disgusting like that. It rewards three stackers with bot lobbies so they can feel good about themselves stomping newbies, because it will incentivize them to keep playing, and thus keep paying. These guys have literally more than 20 psychologists on their marketing team. They know what they're doing.

Match making has always been an issue. Before a I stopped playing, I had a little over a 1KD and would routinely be put in games with Pred and masters players. Even when I got knocked down below a 1, I would still get put in lobbied that would have multiple.

I have a kd average of about 1.4 or something like that, for the first 7 or 8 seasons I got to platinum 4 and struggled to get higher because I was solo most of the time. I wouldn't consider myself great, just an average player. But nearly every lobby has a pred or master players and I just get killed almost instantly. Match making has always been broke on apex unfortunately.

The bonus multiplier from eliminations needs to be more significant until you hit diamond. If you rat till top three and die without any kills as second place, imo you shouldnt even get 50 points. They need to give placement points as soon as you hit diamond, so we dont get a season 15-16 situation. But we should never encourage players to rat in order to gain points, only to minimise the lost points if a game goes south.

Last season created a horrible trend for ranked It was worse when i got teamed up with players playing together, because regardless of if I'm jump master, my teammates willl normally always drop solo and drop together. Also jankz, some players will legit drop simply to rat. I had two teammates that didn't even loot or grab a gun. I ended up third partying a team in front of them lol i was having a whole fight while my teammates hid in some rocks. They ended up joining me when they noticed i killed some players. worst part of solo queue rn is that duo queuers are automatically considered stronger than they are, so I (high mmr) still regularly get clearly not great players on my team, playing like it's pubs, who the game assumes are gonna help me out because their combined mmr fits in my lobbies. I’ve played apex since season 1 at its launch. I quit playing COD for it. I enjoyed it for a very long time. So the biggest problem I have found in previous seasons of ranked is stacks of current preds being in gold/plat/diamond lobbies. They shouldn't be in those lobbies, i dont understand how they even get into those lobbies. How can current preds be in current plat lobbies. The SBMM is broken, it ruins ranked and it ruins pubs. Such a shame because a game that is allot of fun gets ruined because eventually we all take it seriously and want to win and get kills, unfortunately the games matchmaking doesn't help the average player.

It can be and should be much simpler: Zero SBMM, zero MMR, Rank should be the only determining factor in a ranked game. Double the current entry costs. No RP gained from placement until a kill. 1 Kill = Your entry cost removed since you've proven you belong there. Any kill after that is +30 RP. Placement only matters in the top 5, and only multiplies by 10% each rank, which doesn't stack unless you're 1st place meaning a maximum of a 100% bonus on your KP. This way you can still progress even if you don't make the top 10 by simply proving you're better than others in that same tier by wiping their squads. That is the point of ranked after all. Proving you're better than others. Not proving you can hide better than others and have more cheetos and patience to wait than others. But at the same time, it'll also incentivize you not to throw once you see you're in the top 7 or so and know you got a legit shot at winning. Most importantly, these changes would instantly erase ratting BUT without making people just YOLO yeet themselves at other squads off drop because the doubled entry costs would make losing those hurt like hell. It would incentivize people to pick fights even when not already in the top 10, but it would reward doing so carefully because dying before a kill would be a massive setback as it should be since it would imply you do not belong in that rank. Thoughts?

R6s mmr isn’t as affecting either so you could have a good game and still be in somewhat the same lobbies. Apex you get 2 kills and your a qualified pred for 15 games. It’s generally not fun unless you play with a team

It really does baffle me how apex is one of the best movement games ever and people in ranked just think "My legs are tired I think I'll just rest here for awhile."
