i have seen Kanyon 3 times while working arena security. He seemed like one of the nicest most patient people with fans. One older lady came running up to him while he was exiting the arena. He had that stack able luggage. She accidentally knocked his stuff over and started apologizing profusely but he put his hand on her shoulder and said its ok with a big smile and got her laughing. Signed her stuff. Just seemed like a nice dude.

Long comment ahead. I remember in 2003 I went to my first tv taping, which was Smackdown. After the show, the wrestlers headed back to their rental cars which was still in the main parking lot at the old arena in town. A lot of us made our way blocked off by a rail to see them, a a few guys that I can remember like Brock Lesnar and Big Show just ignored the fans and walked on, some wrestlers stayed for a couple minutes and gave autographs like Shelton Benjamin with an annoyed Charlie Haas saying "Shelton let's goooo", but the 2 I remember the most and being the coolest were a Basic Thuganomics John Cena and Chris Kanyon. John Cena was walking down along the rail hyping the crowd and giving high fives including one to me. Chris Kanyon was doing something similar while yelling "WHO BETTER THAN KANYON?" He signed my poster too. 20 years later, I still think about how Cena and Kanyon treated the fans and interacted more with the fans than the rest of the wrestlers. Not to say the other's were rude or anything, just the impression they left were top notch. Thanks for one of the best wrestling memories of my life, Chris! You and John left 11 year old me in awe for a moment I will forever remember. RIP, Kanyon!

Raaaalphie! Whats up! I know this is about Chris, but I was just talkin to my son this week about the stones concert in Syracuse! Lol As far as Chris Klucsarits, i dont know much about his pro career, but I knew him growing up in Sunnyside, his whole family. Gentle Giant. So many stories i could share. So many times I would get into a fight in a bar and the rightvwhwn we square off, their eye would pop and they take off...Im like yeah beat it! I turn around and Chris was standing behind me! Ha! Ha! And I would say" he whats up bro, you think they were afraid me or you?😂 last I saw him was in a gas station in Queens i think in 2003, before imoved away from the hood. He wasnt in a good place. Lost alot of weight. He was good guy. RIP Chris.

Loved Kris, he was very innovative. He did moves I'd never seen before , as a teenager I was like damn, dude raw

I loved him when he came in a few times on The Sirius Years of The Howard Stern Show. He was intelligent and funny. So sad. His mental health & Catholic Upbringing basically killed him.

When his own friend says he wasn't fired for being gay, I tend to think Kanyon may have made stuff up.
@melissawright1979 Жыл бұрын
I think he was so scared of just being himself. Due to his background he expected the whole world to punish him for being gay. So any bad thing that happened to him he would have put down to him being gay
@jpipolagunas9 ай бұрын
Other factors may have been the reason he got fired, but no doubt he was judged and mistreated for his sexuality. Why would they make him dress as boy george and get squashed by the undertaker

In hindsight I don't think it would have mattered at all. His innovation in the ring was always entertaining because he always seemed to be in the fight. In the 90s people didn't care about it as much as you would think because the community wasn't trying to force their agendas on others. They just coexisted and it worked just fine.

Pat Paterson was the first openly gay wrestler and he didn't let anything get to em and that was back in the day when ppl really looked at you strange for being different
@Goopbrainz Жыл бұрын
That’s crazy, it’s almost like these are two people with totally different experiences and tolerances. Just because Pat could handle it doesn’t mean Kanyon could, maybe his support system was very limited and/or nonexistent
@prize5ighter Жыл бұрын
@@Goopbrainzcan anyone tell me or if you have any idea that how come Pat came up and got into one of the most prominent backend positions and became Vince's favorite? Was it because he was older than Vince and had some extra experience of the industry which could've led to Vince to soften his stance and use Pat for his knowledge?
@seanmcgrath307 Жыл бұрын
@@prize5ighterAccording to Sabu, Vince always knew that Patterson was gay because Vince is a fruitcake that likes hiring other fruitcakes. There may be some truth to that.

I've always found it strange how people who get all excited about watching two half naked men covered in sweat and baby oil grappling with each other yet somehow feel morally obliged to be outraged about who one of the people has a relationship with. Somehow I get the feeling they wouldn't be slapping their foreheads in dramatic comedy if they found out a couple of the female wrestlers happened to love another woman. Likely slapping something else.
