I feel you on the DOXing. I was the CFO/"spreadsheet" guy for a small-to-medium corporation in Eve Online. We were care bears (no PVP, in high security--or "blue/yellow zones"). It started interfering with my life, so I told everyone I was going to step down. People got really angry and one guy even found my real identity, which is wild because I was in the US Air Force. I was nervous about starting another MMO, but I'm just taking it easy as a solo player in Albion...basically following your tips and finding what I enjoy.

@@ss-vv1ix This was from 2007-2009 and we had about 200 people at our peak as a corporation (aka "Guild"). We were making a lot of money with my spreadsheets so they were upset that I was leaving. We were having real meetings about the game and we had real workers and had to deal with payroll and logistics. People quickly forget that it's not real. I had a transition plan and started not showing up to meetings and not answering instant messages and texts, so a couple of them DOX'd me. I was very upset.

I just started playing about 2 weeks ago. The biggest complaint I have, is the lack of Solo PvE content, and I don't mean Solo Group dungeons. I mean for new players, in this current game state, there is almost 0 content for us to run. I have done between 5 and 10 dungeons and all of them, literally every single one has been Hidden Mines 1. That should never happen, especially not when this game is over 5 years old. And if the lack of content wasn't enough, you have the community. I have played a LOT of MMORPGs, and I haven't seen a community so elitist, so full of trolls and just downright toxic for no reason. It's like the community hates new players, or they've forgotten what it was like to be new. I've been harassed and ridiculed for asking simple questions, like, "Where is our blob?" You wanna see bridgewatch get triggered? Pretend you dont know how to work the map.

As someone who started about a month ago, I love the pvp and general mechanics. That being said, they seem to do everything possible to make buying gold the logical way to get silver unless youre in a big guild. I always find myself saying 'Why am I not playing OSRS if Im going to have to buy membership to farm at a loss in a mobile game'

This game is the most toxic mmo I've ever played and I've played some bad ones. Once you are forced into red and black zones to progress your character the game turns into one of the most unfun experiences ever. Gathering in red or black zones is like playing a survival game, once you see one name you have to dart out of the zone as fast as possible because you know 10 of his friends are close behind. The only real thing to do with materials is to sell them because crafting is a joke, like he said, the cartels run all of the shops so you are always going to be crafting at a loss. So just pvp right? Corrupted dungeons are fun I guess, but to get to the full loot ones you have to walk around invisible so you don't get ganked trying to find one. PvE is dead content. World bosses are always either neglected or farmed by a single guild, black zone solo dungeons are terrible unless you are in a guild with a hideout. Roads was destroyed so whales can eat minnows in the mist. Don't even get me started on the mist, don't want to get ganked? Go to the mist so you can get bullied by the guy in 8.3 meta gear that is killing anything and everything he sees. Ok, so then just join a guild then? Game is finally unlocked right? nope. You will be treated like a rag in any guild worth joining. They either have insane requirements (millions of pvp fame or you can just fork over 25m silver and get in). The tax is killer, they force you into fights, aka CTA (mandatory call to arms) no matter what you are doing, and if you don't show up you get kicked. You basically just become a slave to these massive alliances but they are the ones who control the black zones so if you want to be able to safely farm bz you have to become a slave to these neckbeards or get bullied by them if you don't join. zvz's are a just a cluster of people, your frames will be terrible and you'll just hope and pray that you are killing somebody only to wind up dead or just standing there. There is zero fun in this game past the early stages, just go play another mmo, it's impossible to have a life or play how you want in this game. Thanks for a banger video as always Benji. You taught me a lot but I just can't play this sorry excuse for a game anymore, it's not worth my time.

In the East I remember that I almost getting ganked by bots and hackers in the yellow and red zone and i wouldn't recommend you to go there since they have damage hack it'll gives you more damages and down you quickly but at least I avoiding by just staying at the blue zone for now.

#16 - The game rewards sociopathy so it is difficult to make friends in-game. There is no end-game raid where you can go and meet people because even if you are in the group, they will just kick you, kill you, and take your stuff... so no one ever does any real end-game group content unless it is with guildies....

(this is why albion's userbase is so lack-luster compared to other mmos. (Hell, even Age of Conan could give albion a run for its money for playerbase size.) The end content us inaccessible to casual players and is impossible to do without guildies/friends. And since you cannot really make friends due to the game developing everyone's latent sociopathy, people skip the game and do OSRS, WoW, or even ESO)

Ultima online was fully lootable but had friendly guilds and you didnt have to go the the pvp Felucca. You got more rewards there, but didnt have to craft/ gather there. Even eve you can join a corp and do low sec gameplay without as much risk as Albion.

Bruh runescape has way more quests the crafting isnt just a nonsensical grind of putting more and more material together. This game says you need tin copper and iron to make titanium ore. The set up is just absolutely made to have you waste days and hours of time. Runescape has some lore and some relaxing skilling. Skilling in albion is like holding in a fart in an elevator. Constantly looking waiting to get ganked by a way higher level. In RuneScape i can at least skill mostly in peace.

Followed your beginner's guide... Got to tier 5 Skinner in day 1.. I have tier 5 gathering gear and tools. On day 3 of free beginner's premium, but still can't get enough silver to buy guild or Island. Man, I just looked back and noticed how much time I wasted within these 3 days just to amount to nothing. Everything is too expensive. The server gets overcrowded and can't login when you want to which is very important to me coz I have other shit to do. But your channel has been my best friend for the past three years. Although I'm leaving the game, I'll still be subscribed. You've been a great guide and mentor. I'mma move on to a different game. Good luck everyone. 👍

I'm being the devil's advocate here, but why should a new player just be able to achieve 'end game' goals in 3 days ? Of course it shouldn't be easy. It took grinding yes but paid off. Anyone who did those stuffs (The guides that Benji put out) got a good head start and made it easier to grind for the next phase i.e, end game. Are you that dumb to think I was hoping to reach end game by day three? And like I said, it's not about a new player, everyone who had a brain did that, but it didn't mean they reached the end game. It still took hundreds of hours to reach there. And let me throw your stupid logic back; when old players were able to get that quality of life beginning from the get go why shouldn't a new player be able to?... They already had that comfy start and had been grinding for years. Now can you do simple math in that brain and see how far ahead they are in the end game context now? How did you came to the conclusion that getting a mere guild island in 3 days of free premium was achieving 'end game'? Do you have a lab out there? send a sample of your brain there. It'll help the world avoid the thought process of your kind and let the rest of humanity achieve greater success.

Thank you very much for the video man, you express things that have been bothering me a lot in the months since I started at Albion. I started in December and I find it bizarre how the game feels like a lawless land where players can do whatever they want without interference from SBI. The players' sociopathy is scary, they love killing new players for fun, it's horrible to evolve as a new player. I believe that SBI itself encourages and encourages this behavior on the part of its community. I remember playing MMORPGs 10+ years ago and things were different, today, it seems like the online gaming community in general is hopelessly screwed up.

As a casual-not so experienced player, I considere there is a problem with how gathering works in early game, it requires to grind for hours just to unlock the next higher tier, that it just drops interest from any new player that doesn't have or want to spend that amount of time on an activity that can result very boring and monotonous after 30 min doing it.

1) put up a good official site explaining ingame mechanics, mobs, npc, wepons, dungeons, difficulty level, arena, tires, appearance, and a good enough calculator 2) its realy a pain in the ass to see we need premium to get a island... If a player don't have premium he is never gonna achive anything in the game... 3) if possible put up a safe zone like the one in city gate at random maps in black zones... If you met a ganker its too hard to make a run for it and there is no place to actually run to...

Crazy that the monthly premium is $14.95 and this only affects 1 character, not the entire account (including multiple servers), unlike WoW & FF14 where the subs have the same IRL $ value. This game is pretty pricey considering the OSRS sub costs only $10.99.

Sounds like a sad state of affairs for the game. I stopped playing a while ago when I stopped having fun playing solo, which is usually my preferred way of playing because I refuse to suck on the teets of most guild leaders with God complexes. #18 is why I quit the game. I m not a crafter, but I gather. I enjoy gathering anything I could till I got tier 6 on all materials. I stayed in yellow zone till I get tier 8 (even fishing) on half of the materials. Then, one day, after my daily routine of gathering (yes, i do go red and black zones), I looked at my balance, I just don't want to play anymore. All I did for 2 years is from making 10000 silver daily, to 100000, to 1million to 5 million, because I don't like pvp, to me, I finished the game, I don't need to repeat my daily routine anymore😂

I rarely rarely comment on anything man, I've thoroughly enjoyed many of your videos and content that you share is quality, but i felt that pain before to. the leetist attitude that so easily sinks when youre on top. by no mean am i anything on Albion, but during Wrath of The Lich King I was a top 10 feral tank druid worldwide for a brief wind. One day i realized I began to look down on those new players. The truth is those new guys that struggled at the simplest were the ones having a blast where i was driven to be the best. the fun and the achievement was gone and it was work. I find myself lacking in pvp, and when they instituted resilience on Warcraft and kill my Vanilla AVs that i would spend hours to get into and most memorable was the 6+ hour long battle that we traded kings so many times 1300 plus kills and 500 kbs. i went from grunt to Knight liutenant and if i had started just I would've made GM. I still remember Facin the Shammy with the legendary Mace The Hand of Ragnarock the windfury one hit of our first encounter, but the second is one of me on a warrior soloing the elite Ogres that use to pat i seen that shaamy a coming. i could stance dance Ive always bled arms warrior. i was rocking that Crafted blue axe im drawing a blank on that I'm not even wasting time to google. because those days are gone. i remember some of the accolades, but lord it was so quickly meaning and i was left with memories of belittling people for just having fun. I was never so ashamed I personally walked from that guild and searched for a married couple I befriended in the beginning. Many many an hour did us three share adventures in vanilla with no asperations of being number one. Those were my favorite moments of the game. Sharing a pixalated with two people I've never had the pleasure of meeting in real life. thick and thin we were there. accomplishing achievement and stuff just us three Altoholics. i still remember leaving the starting glen in the night elf area and catching a glimpse of a neutral lvl 7 owl at lvl 5 and genuinely being scared. If you experienced the magic of Vanilla Not vanilla it was something. Any day of the week month year or lifetime I'd relinquish being #1 in lieu of having those two rock solid friends to share the content with any day. For what its worth ya aren't alone. I'm timid about the rz and stuff because i come out decently geared, but testing the waters. rarely is it a 1v1 I'm lucky if its less that four. I've seen people survive and win that on youtube, but i haven't seen it first hand. then i try a throw away set and it's no different. I love the game but knowing majority of the full loot world stuff is full of gankers that take pleasure in trying to stomp the life out of a solo guys lungs. you jump me behonorable pick some of your party that similarly spec and lets rock a loss sucks but defeat honorably is a pill you swallow and learn from. eight people swarming from the bushes in what i cant even pause to inspect isnt much honorable to a person trying to learn in a 6.1 set. Just my two cents. I watch a few others, but I've always been drawn to yours. You speak a that feels genuine in a world full of fakes. thats a true treasure.

The game needs a murderer system like ultima online. You wanna 8v1 murder people, then you shouldn't be able to enter cities anymore. 8 hour counter per murder. You can live in your hideout. Caerleon can be the outlaw/murderer city (like bucs den from uo. These "pvpers" talk about high risk/high reward, yet they never take any risk and only take fights where they vastly outnumber. This not pvp.

8:46 yes but rust servers reset very often, weekly is common. So it's not a big deal to lose your stuff. In fact most people that play Rust only play for the first few days after a weekly wipe. An MMO on the other hand has more time invested into a character than a MP game like Rust. Full loot, when managed, isn't that bad, I've played mmo's that result in loss of skill upon death. I played during beta and got burnt out during that time and never played release. I'm sitting on 3 keys (2 epics and 1 legendary) that have never been applied after release. During Beta everyone was sharing knowledge, they even had a contest for most edits to their gamepedia page and people were competing with updates to win keys. It's sad to see tools not getting shared. Of course all of this drama means $ for SI so it's understandable to see them embracing it, but death threats and dead animals? If that's true, then how has that not come back to bite them? This game has changed quite a bit though, yet in many ways not at all. It was originally intended as a browser based mmo.

the game is honestly hard as f when you start it. I have been playing for 60 hours and Im maybe halfway through to get premium just because I have no idea how to farm anything. Solo pve is a mess. Ive had some success doing hide gathering in black zones with trash gear. It gives me the biggest profit so far IF I go during off hours. During peak hours I cant play the game. blue and yellow is full of people gathering, black zones will get me killed too fast to make a profit. Benji you ever thought about trolling whales somehow? Idk how that would look like but maybe some peeps in your community would help you out?

@@SwoleBenji so there are two versions of RuneScape. The main game RuneScape and the other more popular game old school RuneScape. Old school RuneScape was released in 2013 and was released as the game was in 2007 but for the last 10 years it has received many updates and now stands alone as its own game. I highly recommend it dude it’s one of the best mmo’s. The combat is very dated but everything else about is is just great.

Benji, I hear you loud and clear. I'm finishing a month of premium. I'm weary of the graphics, the predictable dungeons, the miserly chests. Guilds don't seem to be the answer although I did get an earful of hate from Germany and Denmark for being a conservative American, which was interesting. How have we stayed out war with them? In any case, I'm ready to try something else. I'm retired and disabled but need to be more active. AlbionOnline is starting to feel like a desk job, and I don't need that. Where can I spend my $15 and get the biggest bang for the buck? I like gathering, I like PVE content, I like interacting, (the English Channel is atrocious however), and I love a good STORY. I like feeling like I'm a part of what's going on, and I need to be able to get away from it, get up, move around, and work out my arthritic joints. This is one of the best videos ever made about how evil Albions community is, specifically the high level players and whales. And how the game sucks so hard to the level that it enables the evil players to harass new and weaker players. The game is extremely pay to win, and pvp is there to make sure it stays pay to win, you're a liar or an idiot if you slightly think that Albion is not pay to win. Playing the game at turtle speed while all other paying players speed through it and making and joining all the good guilds and keeping all the profit making hobbies and mechanics and do so many dangerous things without much risks because they can recover quick is not a good healthy way to play a game and that makes your game PAY TO WIN. Out of all these pathetic MMO games, only one game (Genre) did PVP right and it is not even an MMO RPG game. And it's Souls games of From Software, Invading others in Elden ring or DS 3 2 1 is so god damn fun because it is risk free, you do it for fun, even if you get killed 300 times you really don't lose much, PVP in that game is used as a test of skill vs a real adapting player rather than a tool for devs to send their vultures (players) to kill other players to hit them so low they be forcing to spend money on the game.

As a new player, this is so true. Don't get me wrong, the game is fun but there's so many issues. I'm rarely making decent silver, normally playing at a loss. The knowledge gatekeeping point is way too real. reddit loves telling noobs/new players that PvP is the best way to get silver and they need to gitgud if they aren't making a profit. Lets be honest, new players are never turning a profit in PvP. Also, like you said, there's a surprising lack of actual content for majority of the player base and unfortunately, the hacking is unreal and very present. This is my experience thus far. Why is a game so tailored against new players, the very thing that keeps games alive and thriving... It makes no sense to me.

It seems like this game could easily be saved by removing the full loot pvp aspect of it. Every full loot pvp game turns into this - toxic psychopaths that grief other players with their groups. Just get rid of it and make it a pve game with optional pvp. You'll fix it overnight.

Ppl said it's not p2w game, but the game does have "Premium" feature which you can't get it as new player by not spending any irl money [It's a P2W feature man]. Like without it you can't do this, can't get this, but if you have here is your rewards. It's literally a P2W feature.
