Yeah, I think you're right on this one 😕 I don't think there's been a film that has ever hit me in quite that way. I've been enjoying your channel!

Thank you for saying that! I’m happy you’re enjoying the channel and I’ll keep working hard to bring you content! And yeah, Dear Zachary is a tough, tough watch. I honestly didn’t expect too many viewers to have heard of it, but it’s great that you have and can substantiate the argument. It’s such a sad (but wonderful, imo!) film.

Thanks! I know what you mean when you have to schedule it. I've got a couple of movies I watch that I know are going to make me cry my eyes out. But sometimes that's exactly what we need to help us feel like a human.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s rare to find a movie that connects with your emotions so deeply that you can’t handle watching it too often, but I cherish those films. You’re exactly right, it’s what makes us human. Thank you for your comment!

This is absolutely the saddest movie I’ve ever seen. Have never cried harder during a movie than this during this one. Just watching this short video made me well up 😭 made me think about everything this movie put me through

Aww yeah, it’s an incredibly sad story and an even sadder movie because of how Kuenne lets everything unfold. I really can’t watch this very often :(

It sounds like a documentary I watched virtually at Sundance this year called Ibelin. I loved Ibelin. And I added this the watchlist and dread/anticipate watching it!! Thanks for the rec!
@whenthepicturesgotbigger9 ай бұрын
I’d love to see Ibelin, it seems unique and incredibly moving! How did that compare to the rest of what you saw at Sundance? And I hope you like Dear Zachary!! It’s certainly an unforgettable viewing experience.

I really enjoyed this video and the story sounds absolutely heartbreaking. I don’t think I could watch it to be honest but it does sound like an amazing film and I’m glad they were able to tell his story ❤️

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend it for everyone! It’s such a good movie though. If you’re ever in the mood for something tragic, maybe you’d enjoy this film.

Thanks Iron Mandrill! And haha no I’ve never gotten that before but thank you for the compliment :)

To me the saddest I’ve ever seen is Pixar’s Inside Out because of the scene Riley comes back home to her family.
@whenthepicturesgotbigger9 ай бұрын
Yeah Inside Out is very sad. That scene makes me emotional, as well as the scene where Bing Bong gets left behind. It’s a very sad movie overall but one of my favorites from Pixar

The saddest scene of any movie or series I've ever seen is the ending to Jurassic Bark, an episode of Futurama. It is so sad that even thinking about it makes me tear up
@whenthepicturesgotbigger9 ай бұрын
I’ve always wanted to watch Futurama but was more into The Simpsons, haha. You piqued my interest even more with this though!
@giovannifoulmouth72059 ай бұрын
@@whenthepicturesgotbigger Well I'm glad I did and for what it's worth, I think you should definitely watch Futurama if u liked Simpsons. I watched both and I find Futurama far superior. Futurama is usually very silly but some episodes get really sad and serious.

Exactly! It really is the saddest movie I’ve ever seen. I love it, but it’s so hard to watch :(
@marceldamen30169 ай бұрын
I’ll put it on my Watchlist and let you know. I hear you on this being THE saddest movie ever but for me personally, my saddest movie very much differs at what age I watched it and/or what state of mind I was in at that time (as this film is only sad for an adult or a father and not so much for a child/teen-ager, unless you maybe don’t know your father/lost your father at birth). I remember as child being completely shaken by the death of E.T. while that now has much less impact. I was fighting blindness (now okay and stabilized) when Dancer in the Dark came out, while (still extremely dark!) I can now watch it with much less emotion. I was going through divorce when Marriage Story came out and that hit hard on me and haven’t rewatched since. It’s very much as you say at the start: we watch movies because we want to feel something. Though funny enough I almost never deliberately choose a film so I can feel extreme sadness. So if this is indeed the saddest movie ever it will probably also take a long time before I actually choose to watch this. 😉

That’s a very good point, Marcel, I always love your comments and insight :) it’s a great consideration about how certain movies affect us at different times in our lives. I can’t imagine trying to watch Dear Zachary as a young father. Also I’m so sorry to hear about the issues you dealt with, but I’m glad you’re doing better now and stabilized the blindness!

@@whenthepicturesgotbiggerThanks. I have special contacts that are 3D printed to match my eye shape and condition (technological advance is a blessing) this makes me see normal. But at night, without contacts in I feel like a dancer in the dark. 🙂
