The Saddest Rescue We Ever Had To Make Pt 2.

My partner Kevin and I got a call from a gentleman, Nestor, that asked us to rescue his fish some of them which he's had for 20 years. Nestor was recently diagnosed with cancer of his kidney which spread to his lungs. He can no longer care for his fish and worries that he will not have enough time or energy to take care of them while undergoing treatment. He did not ask for any money or anything, all he asked for was that the fish be put in a good home which shows how selfless and thoughtful he is. We know treatment is not cheap. Let's help Nestor and his family. Any amount helps. Thank you so much.

He's trying to stay strong. He's doing now iron infusions 3 times a week now. He's also done 3 blood transfusions. We are just trying to be very hopeful at this point. We really appreciate all the love from all. ❤️

Hello all with a very heavy heart I say my husband Nestor has passed. On July,7,24 he took his last breath as he looked into my eye telling me I love you. Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers for our family.

As someone in treatment for breast cancer, you have no idea how greatful Nestor must feel. It's overwhelming. I have 5 cats and a dog, there were some days when I can't feed my babies. My partner had to do it for me. Not being able to take care of your pets hurts. My dog doesn't leave my side, I'm so for my little angel. I've had some bad days but have gotten so much love and support. I can't wait to see the video of him picking up his new fish!! All you guys at predatory fins are absolutely amazing God bless you.

Hello All! I come with some good news. Seems the treatments plus all your well wishes is starting to show hope. We got the news a few hours ago about most of the cancer mass's shrinking a little apart from one that grow ever so slightly bigger in his right kidney. The doctor wanted to see a far better results then what we got, but it better having some progress then no progress to the treatment. I have said Nestor is in a 2 year plan treatment for the cancer. So hopefully with continuing the treatment the progress in the future we'll have better results. Once again with eyes full of tears I/ We are so grateful for all of the wonderful wishes and support you have given to us. Sending my warmest of thoughts to all those going through hard time in life. I'm here if ever one of you' wish to share or talk of some troubles you are going through. We need to know we are not as alone with troubles in our life's as we feel we are. I had him for 17 years and hands down pacu are my favorite fish, second is Oscars, I currently have a 1200 custom built pond should y’all need to adopt out a pacu

Good on you for taking these fish in ..for next time put the Insulation on the outside of the box. Once it gets wet it loses much of its Insulation properties. And most of the time you have to throw it away. Not knocking what you did just 2 cents from a guy that builds insulated boxes.

I used trash bags to bring my fish from east hartford CT to western PA (8 hr drive) way back in 1990 or so. And yeah as long as you use the non-scented ones, ie plain plastic, it works great.

Kevin, that logic about the retails diet at the end there makes total sense, I mean look at wild red tails they look a lot like that one you rescued while a lot of ones fed whole prey like silversides and stuff do get that large headed body shape. Very interesting, makes me wonder what type of vegetation of any they’d prefer. Could be a cool experiment

Only way to repair the tank is to cut it apart and make it smaller. You can't re-bond acrylic seams.
