Just a small correction for authenticity, it is funny to see that whilst the case plays in Austria, all the uniformed officers at the beginning, crime lab, house search, etc. do wear German batches on their sleeves ;-) and they do look completely different from the Austrian batches. So if you reenact old cases, don't mix up the Germans with the Austrians ;-)

There was a case in Japan not that long ago where a man was convicted of killing and cannibalizing a college co-Ed. His father was a high up political figure and I don’t think he ended up spending time in jail. Instead what does the Japanese public do!? They made him a celebrity! He hosted cooking shows, talk shows, was this novelty star. The public’s reaction was just as disturbing as this mans crime itself. I think his name was Issei Sagawa.

People are so sure of themselves whether making assertions regarding psychology, sociology, pathology etc. And this is a TV show that you can bet is not totally accurate. I'm not defending this guy. He was a cold-blooded killer. What I am saying is how easily people are manipulated even at the very moment they are writing about a manipulator. Without all the facts in front of you, this is just entertainment that's a decent approximation of actuality. Don't treat it like an evidence file and don't just go along with what other parrots are saying.

I suggest the person making the subtitles to get the names right, even if it's the name of a killer. Here, sometimes it's onto Vegas (31:05) sometimes it's Jack Hunter Vega (31:11) and then it becomes Jack underweigher (31:39) . If you have to type fast just use initials. I noticed this in other Real Crimes episodes for other names too and not only for names of criminals. PS : At 37:15 it is "underweight" :D :D :D

There are no cure for killers who committ brutal murder or sexual crimes. You can reeducate thieves, money related criminals, but not cold blood ones. Someone whois able to kill for pleasure (and not for self-defense) or need should be life sentenced, cause they probably will be a high risk to society as long as they are alive and free When killing it's an addiction, there is nothing that can rehabilitate.
