when did they get rid of this? i went to this theme park every year when i was a kid and this was definitely not there. it was probably like 2003-2007 when i went?

By that time they had gotten an updated version of the show with new bots, but that version was definitely there when you went

2006. The CEI animatronics were removed and replaced with newer figures made by another company so the show itself does still exist and still uses the original 70s audio but the bots are different. All of these figures are in storage so at least they weren’t destroyed, the original characters were (in my opinion) far superior to the newer ones. I think the main reason for their removal was that early CEI figures were extremely crudely built in the sense that the mech is a fibreglass body with the mechanical parts bolted directly onto it, this makes maintenance incredibly difficult
