so so glad you're back to making videos. watching you work is mesmerizing. Do you have any advice on where to start if wanting to get into woodworking like this? where did you start learning this craft? Keep pumping out the videos!

@@Topo42mh hahaha I paused the woodworking to spend a year in Scotland at the end of 2022. Hell of a jump cut though with no context 😂

Really beautiful work and design. I’ve built a few wall hanging jewelry cabinets over the last year and really appreciate the amount of design you put into this piece. Great work.
@gregoryraiewskiАй бұрын
Thank you Roy - I appreciate it! This is a fun piece to make for sure. I'd love to see the kinds of cabinets you've built. I've done one wall-hanging version of this armoire for a client a few years back, and went with a French cleat system. Very fun!

Love your work! Been following you since I started furniture making apprenticeships 3 years ago and am inspired by your designs, rewatched your videos a ton over the last 2 years for inspo. Glad to see your making content again.

Very nice work! I’ve been thinking of doing something like this for a while now. I absolutely love the walnut and brass accents.
@gregoryraiewskiАй бұрын
Thank you. Brass and walnut are a great combo. I designed these because I didn't like the store-bought hooks that just screw in.

Using the L-fence on a template was a bit of an "Ah-ha" moment for me. I need to dust mine off. Very happy to see you posting content! Your work is a big influence on my own woodworking
@gregoryraiewskiАй бұрын
Thank you! That's awesome to hear, and it's nice to be back in the shop (I took some time off and spent a year in Scotland, but I'm back in California now!). I prefer using the L-fence over router bits for any of the straight sections of templates, especially with things like end grain.

Nice! The mix brass and wood on the lace holders is very nice! Why the shrink wrap at around 9min? Just curious. Kneel on the good work
@gregoryraiewskiАй бұрын
Thank you Eric! Those little brass pegs are fun to make. As for the shrink wrap - if you go back and look, you'll also notice that I went from having a shaved head to long hair, and am in a different shop entirely. Long story short, I took a leave of absence from my day job as a teacher, put all of my tools in storage, and spent a year living in Scotland. I shrink wrapped the armoire to keep the parts from twisting or warping while they were in storage 😅
