No kidding. The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights was great! This movie “The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh” was a great 3 part movie! Walt Disney is now rolling in his grave because his once great company is now worthless “woke.”

I'm 29 years old and I grew up on a lot of classic Disney stuff. It's honestly a shame this isn't more popular, I love this miniseries! And I've had a crush on the Scarecrow since I was really young, occasionally I like a guy in a spooky awesome costume, I can be weird like that. There, I said it. LOL I think an important lesson I learned from the Scarecrow (and Zorro and Batman, for that matter) is that color coding is 9 times out of 10 BS. What do I mean by this? Well, when I was really little, I guess I thought the Scarecrow was the bad guy at first, because he looked scary, and I thought only bad guys looked scary. Little kid logic, what can I say? LOL But it turns out that the Scarecrow is about as complex as humanity as a whole. Good and bad can look like anyone or anything, and a whole lot of shades of gray in between them. Doctor Syn went to really risky lengths to do what he felt and knew was right, including becoming an outlaw in his own country. It may be vigilante justice, but it worked! At least for this portrayal of him, I hear the novel version of him is *way* darker. LOL Anyway, love this miniseries, I wish it came out on DVD more often than a rare blue moon! :D

Watched this whenever Disney showed this in 1960s when I was a kid. Just a really well done story with spooky visuals . I bought a Scarecrow Halloween mask after they showed this on TV ... the mask had cool colors but was the usual cheap one-sided Halloween type mask ...not durable. I had the Gold Key comicbook too . The cool movie theme song ... neat spooky night scenes ... Patrick McGoohan's fantastic performance & the Scarecrow's maniacal laughter made a lasting impression on me. This was my favorite Walt Disney movie !
