The medical crew on that field deserves endless praise, they had not a second to waste and barely any room if any at all for error and ended up saving this guys life. Now he's out there as a full participant in practice only months after this and has made what looks like a full recovery.

U are correct they saved his life. He stopped breathing TWICE on the field. When u saw them put him in the ambulance. Then they brought him back out . They had to get his HEART going again. What a crazy night. ❤️

Who cares, this happens all the time, we need to fix this issue, which is done by all eating a whole foods, plant based diet, create a natural, non toxic environment, in nature, in our cities, and in all our products, as well as exercise more, it’s so easy, but greed for money is the problem as always. Also, we have 8 billion people, and only 1 planet. If people cared as much about the planet that they do their friends, family, or this guy, our climate wouldn’t be getting worse and worse all the time. We only have 1 planet, but we could easily lose 7.5+ billion people, and our species would be fine, especially if only the strongest and smartest were left, and the planet would also benefit from this. Just the objective truth.

When this happened, I honestly think that everyone forgot about the game and just prayed for Damar Hamlin. The game didn't matter anymore. A young man's life is what mattered to everyone. I am just so glad that the medical crew took such swift action and kept his heart beating. I am thankful that he lived and I am also thankful that he is able to lead his normal life.

@planeedits4686 Actually, you are right. The good thing was that the valves of his heart were 2orking, which means he could get oxygenated blood, going through his aorta vein, so if the valves didn't work blood wouldn't be able to pump and it will kill him.
@gustav9885

@gustav9885
@gustav9885 3 ай бұрын
@@C0ol_beans @C0ol_beans lol, your education system obviously failed you. That or you're trolling. First of all, your aorta is not a vein but an artery. Second, your heart valves are important for circulation, however they are not the structures pumping blood. If your heart stops, like his did, it's not pumping blood anymore. The valves are what keep blood from flowing in the wrong direction. What kept him alive is the Bills medical team performing CPR to keep his blood moving and his lungs ventilated, thus delivering air to his body. At least that's how I always understood it, feel free to correct me where I'm wrong, though!;)

You use the words:"God bless". I wish that people would acknowledge God even more than what they do. Long story short:I came across footage, of a Man who had a Heart Attack, and died... right in a Church! However, there was a Medical Team in that Church, that did CPR and all, and God worked and moved, and raised him from the dead! The Pastor, a Brother E. Dewey Smith, said this:"The Medical Team can work on him...but only God can give Breath"! He was, of course, referring to the Breath of Life. Only God can give THAT! The Man recovered, and apparently went on to live his life.

Back in December, I got incredibly ill, septic shock due to complications from a kidney stone. I nearly died. I was in the ICU for a solid month. While I was there, who would be rushed into the room next to mine? Damar Hamlin. The players from both teams that came to see him and wish him a speedy recovery were some of the greatest people in the world. They treated my wife so well, as if she were a lifelong friend. While I lay in bed, and my wife was unsure if I'd ever wake up again, these beautiful human beings who's friend was also in a very serious situation, embraced her and offered her support and compassion. It's something I will never be able to repay, and something I think about on a daily basis. I am a lifelong Bengals diehard, but I also now love the Buffalo Bills for their tremendous people.

This was scary to see. Both teams, even though they were rivals that day, had cared. Dead silence is something to never hear on a football field, and that is how you know it was serious. They gave him CPR for 15 minutes before he started breathing again. It's a miracle he's alive. Edit: Everyone in the replies is saying he is dead, and they revived him, and all that. I’m a Bengals fan in Cincinnati. I remember watching the Week 17 game live on TV with my family. Damar Hamlin’s collapse was the most horrifying thing I’ve seen in 23 years of watching football. I’m glad they decided to cancel the game, because I didn’t want to see the game continue and doubt the players and coaches wanted to continue playing after witnessing that. I felt horrible about it and terrible for the Bills fans in attendance. I’m glad none of the Bengals fans in the stadium decided to be jackasses about the situation. After the game, downtown Cincinnati was full of support for the Bills. Multiple buildings were lit up red and blue. There were signs with the number 3 hanging in windows. I think there may have even been electronic billboard messages supporting Damar. I’m so glad he covered and I hope he stays healthy. Hopefully he has a great career and does a lot of good with the $9 million his GoFundMe raised. And I hope to God I never see what happened to Damar ever happen again.

This reminds me of Fabrice Muamba, a British football player who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch in 2012. His heart was stopped for over 20 minutes, the match was live and everyone saw him just collapse onto the ground. He made a full recovery but has retired from playing. Damar's collapse was caused by a medical phenomenon called commotio cordis. When Tee Higgins hit Damar's chest with his shoulder, it hit a specific ventricle in Damar's heart at a specific heartbeat and caused the cardiac arrest. It's rare and more common with baseball players. The team that worked on him on the field absolutely saved his life.

I thought at first he may have had a concussion at first because it's not uncommon to see a player get hit then fall down but when it came back from a long commercial break to an ambulance and them saying they had been performing CPR for over 2 minutes at the time was shocking and scary. I was scared for him and started to cry seeing his teammates reaction to everything. I'll definitely never forget that night and I'm so so glad he ended up okay

Not a football or sports fan of any kind but what happened to Damar Hamlin and the outpouring of love and support he received makes me tear up. On a more serious note, for those who may not understand why people were shaken after Damar Hamlin collapsed, watching someone collapse without warning is extremely scary. I know because I’ve witnessed it firsthand. I was sitting in my college class when the person sitting next to me moved their chair and started to make a gagging sound. Someone yelled out that it was a seizure and I immediately leaped into action, supporting the person’s neck as they fell out of their chair and onto the floor. Thankfully, they woke up soon after and appeared okay but were still taken by medical personnel that had been called to come get them to the clinic. At the time, I was okay but several hours later, I was crying in my dorm room from the stress of the situation and at the thought that I didn’t do enough. That event still haunts me to this day and I’m sure Damar Hamlin collapsing on the field will remain with the players, coaches, and anyone who watched the game for the rest of their life.

I can't imagine the feeling of literally watching someone collapse and then just not respond anymore. That is so scary and I'm grateful that he's doing well
