For me it’s that Tatum and Brown are just entering their prime. 26 and 27 years old. So their trajectory will be going up over the next 4-5 years. That’s a scary thought.

Let’s not forget the Cavs were missing three key rotation players-the very guys who would’ve been guarding Tatum and Brown. Even with that, Cleveland’s third-string bench outplayed Boston! Now, I can’t wait to see what happens when the Cavs face Boston in Cleveland. Shoutout to Kenny for building an incredible bench. The Cavs’ backups-Merritt, Porter, and Jerome-are third-string players, and they still dominated the Celtics. Imagine what the full squad will do! I'm sorry ,Boston played their best game shooting and Cavs didn't wait until you come to Cleveland. I bet you Cavs win by more than 10?

Scariest part is that everyone thinks cause they been making the playoffs for years they old but JT and JB just hit their prime. PP is turning into this generation JJ reddick, and porzingis hasn’t even played yet!!! We won the chip last year basically without him. That’s before you mention the best defensive backcourt in the league, jrue and d.white…. Who both can also shoot and are 3 level scorers… Celtics are NASTY!!!! If they keep this team they will win chips or atleast compete for them for the next 5 years at least!!!!!! Only gripe is we NEED to do something to get Marcus smart back 😢 he deserves a chip with us… such a shame. Also just because I’ll never forgive the Celtics for this… Isaiah Thomas… iykyk. The scariest part of this team is the youth of their superstars. They are the 9th oldest team but bc of one Al Horford who’ll be 39 by end of season. And if you took him and a 34yr old Holiday off the roster they’d be one of the youngest. Great mix of youth and experience on this team.

@notmyname962526 күн бұрын
@@IAM-DONELLnot to mention i think playing that style of basketball brings out the defense and just overall physicality of the sport since teams have to always be that much more alert to defend against all options and can never afford to relent on the pressure against a team like that. Maybe it’s just cuz we got a target on our backs being champions too but i swear this year has been the most physical basketball i’ve seen in a long time and i think the style of basketball we play does have something to do with that.

Cavs in a good spot going forward. The clock is ticking on the current version of the Celtics. The new Collective Bargaining Agreement rules and Boston entering the Repeater luxury tax brackets starting next season will bring an abrupt end to this current Celtics dynasty. The Celtics have paid the luxury tax last two seasons and will pay again at the end of this season. Paying the luxury tax 3 straight season will trigger the Repeat offender luxury tax penalty which will be due to be paid at the end of next year the 2025-2026 season. Currently for the 2025-26 season the Celtics have a total committed salary of $225,514,138 for only 11 players. Next year the Celtics will have to fill out the remaining 4 roster spots and be hamstringed in doing so by the fact they are going to be a perpetual Second Apron team going forward. The only moves a second apron team can make to improve their team are the following: they can resign their own free agents; they can sign their own draft picks, and they can sign new players to only the veteran minimum salary. That's it. They can't sign free agents with a Mid-Level exception or Biannual exception. If they make a trade, they can't take back more than 100% salary matching in the trade. They also can't combine multiple outgoing salaries in any trade. In other words, the only trade they can make is where the Celtics are sending out one player and bringing back one or more players where the combined incoming salary is less than the one outgoing players salary. Also, because they are above the first apron they are not allowed to sign a buyout player that was being paid more than the 12.9-million-dollar non-taxpayer mid-level exception this season prior to being bought out. As I said earlier, the Celtics have $225,514,138 committed to 11 players next year. I imagine they will resign Horford (if he doesn't rupture one of his 38-year-old Achilles tendons before then) to another one-year deal. They'll have a late first round pick in 2025 that they will sign, and they will either resign Jaden Springer or let him go and sign someone else to a vet min deal. Their 15th roster spot will probably remain open until Feb or March 2026 when they sign a buyout player. I project that the total cost for their player roster for the 2025-26 season will be approximately $241,000,000 (if they bring back Horford). I did the math on this payroll number using this year's Repeater luxury tax brackets and came up with a tax bill for next season of $263,000,000. Add that tax penalty to their players' salaries and it comes out to $504,000,000 dollars total cost to put their team on the court next year 2025-26. Yes, that was over a half BILLION with a B! Keep in mind that current Celtics majority owner Wyc Grousbeck only has a total net worth of about $400,000,000. Maybe this is why he's looking to sell the team. The Celtics have additional minority owners but in business the majority owner typically pays a majority of the expense. In the present-day NBA, you just can't pay two players on the same team 300-million-dollar contracts like Tatum and Brown are going to be getting. The Celtics will be forced to bust the team up. This is all simple mathematics.

JV is on a team friendly contract and he can be locked up for the next 2 seasons and as Al is on his last season JV will serve well for the next 2 seasons . Wiz are going to unload him in Jan-Feb and Lakers & Warriors are going to go hard after him, better he plays for the Celtics than your opponent in the finals.

They were missing three key rotation players-the ones who would’ve been guarding Tatum and Brown. Yet, Cleveland’s third-string bench still outplayed Boston! It’s hilarious because the Cavs had their deepest backups on the floor and still held their own. I can’t wait to see what happens when the Cavs face Boston in Cleveland. Big credit to Kenny for building such a strong bench. Merritt, Porter, and Jerome-third-stringers-dominated the Celtics. Just imagine what the full squad will do! If you don’t see what Kenny’s doing, you’re missing it. Getting the bench ready for high-level games now means he’s cooking up something serious for Boston. I see it already based on who he started!
@tn200727 күн бұрын
You clearly don’t watch Boston. This was FAR from their best basketball. They had some good moments in the game but their defense in the paint suffered tremendously which allowed the Cavs to get back in the game
@kennn3027 күн бұрын
How was this their best basketball without their 3rd best player? I feel like a lot of people forget how good this Boston team is with Kristaps, their paint defense is elite with him. You know how many points Cleveland scored in the paint? 60. More than half their points came from the paint while only a quarter of them came from the three point line. Last season Boston was the 2nd best paint defense behind Minnesota, right now they're only the 16th best paint defense, you think Cleveland is shooting 63% in the paint with Kristaps there? The Cavs weren't healthy either but don't brush off Kristaps impact like that.
