Summited khanpari tibba yesterday and I can assure that the difficulty is of mountaineering grade, equipment were needed for sure. It's not an moderate trek, the ridge walks are really long and tiring but surely it is an great alternative to other known treks like hampta and bhrigu. Khanpari is also very scenic, the views were better than other treks in Manali at this altitude.

re 1:34 IMHO, if he lost his footing even at this shallow pitch, he would quickly lose the ability to stop (despite his confidence and soft soles.) re 1:43 Here he means "soft enough". Slightly harder/colder, makes it harder to kick steps. re 2:05 Toljaso. re 3:04 Even a little sun warms/softens the surface for easier purchase. re 5:32 The apparently recent mini-shrund and the spontaneous snow wheel indicate near critical slope & poor substrate adhesion. Increased risk. re 9:12 What are the chances his dog is trained in self-arrest. (sigh!) re 12:30 He seems not to notice that he is actually on the cornice he rightfully said to avoid earlier. Even more dangerous with the warmth of the day. re 13:44 His even more poorly equipped "partners" have to do this bare handed. I hate to point out that this should have given him pause on the way up! re 15:35 His dog is not as stupid.

These slopes are dangerous. I remember in one of the treks I slipped but managed to stick my trekking pole while sliding down, that broke my trek pole in half, but saved me from sliding further down. When you plan such treks, make sure you physically prepare your body and practice walking or climbing up/down stairs etc at least a month before while carrying bags with weight, to gain strength in your legs..

( I was trying to make space for foot and like your friend , only could hit snow with one foot and second foot se balance nhi bna and then khade hone me fati jaa rhi thi 😅 and then a foreigner came and he hit snow like it was butter .. I was like 😧 ) Seriously such videos like yours excites me so much but when such bad incidents happens .. I feel like that paragliding dude. 😂 On every three treks , kuch na kuch hua hi hai .. jb bach jaaata hu then baad me apne upar hasi aati hai .. Tungnath jaate waqt hi .. ek jgh aadhi body tak snow ke gaddhe me ghus gya tha... Atleast you guys inform such things also , what to do and what not to do on such places .. So much thanks from people like me .. 😂
