These new Monsters Inc quests for some reason are super buggy for me. First I couldn’t pick up mikes contact lens, now I’m at the fifth clue and i can’t fish it out. When I cast my line ANYWHERE in that pond up top, including in the gold circle, it pops out as if I’m hitting solid ground

I can't fish there it won't let me. My red tide pool is on the other side right against the rocks, and when I go to cast my hook it won't let me

Mine was the same way. So I tried saving the game and getting out and re-entering the game and when I went to the mines, it moved just enough past the rocks for me to get. Crazy.
