He still respects her as a colleague and friend. She obviously was very upset. Him staying is trying to be respectful and to talk it out. Even though it may seem counterproductive, I think Yuan Shuai did the right thing. Ar least, it's all cleared up.

Oh my goodness how many times does he have to tell her he doesn't like her, no matter how hard she pushes the issue he still isn't going to like her....sad she should move on gracefully.

This is a prime example of why you shouldn't take other people telling you that 'You'd be the perfect couple' and similar as if it actually means anything; it doesn't. Their opinions have little to no bearings on whether or not the other person has feelings for you or wants to be in a relationship with you. Maybe it's a cultural thing, similar to how on screen celebrity couples and celebrities in general are 'shipped' off screen with other celebrities by their 'fans' to the point they get verbally abusive and violent when the celebrities date someone else or date no-one at all. In both scenarios they think what they're doing is harmless, but what they're actually doing is putting expectations on others and also expectations in people's head (as seen above) that somehow if enough people tell the object of their love/obsession that they're 'perfect' together then that person will suddenly get feelings for them. That is not how feelings or relationships should or do work in general.

The fact that she speak to him in the way she does is a big red flag 🚩 for me! and the fact that he didn’t correct her is another red flags 🚩 she claims to like him but humiliated him like that! Yelling to sit like he was a trained dog! That’s the main reason he would have her as his gf

Lol, she is questioning him if he really doe not have any feelings for her. They have known each other for a long time. If he any had romantic feeling for her the two would have be dating a long time ago.

If my best friend told me they liked me, and i had to tell them more then once that its never gonna happen or they did anything to harm my love life, you would not be my friend anymore, let alone best friend. And i would do what i can to separate myself completely from them as its only asking for trouble. Dont keep people around if you know you cant reciprocate their feelings
