The scene in this book where the Emperor puts his hand on the Knight and says "Heal thyself" and the machine auto-repairs is awesome. It was like mankind had fallen so far that we didnt even know our own machines were capable of self-repair, but the emperor knew and could activate the protocol with a psychic impulse and a phrase, all wrapped up in pseudo-theological aesthetics that really drives home the essence of 40k.

The destruction of Magma City is honestly one if not the most heartbreaking thing about the Heresy. So much knowledge was lost. So much potential was squandered. Imagine where the Imperium might have been if that most precious repository had survived.
