I remember my dad telling me in elementary school through high school, he had this once bus driver who was driving like he was a 5 star wanted in GTA and would drive fast as hell to the point where if he made a sharp turn you could hear the tires screeching but when he hit the brakes you'd see a bunch of kids from the back flying down the aisle or teleported to the front of the bus. there were times where he would pray to god he didn't die due to how fast the bus driver was going

I had the best bus driver in middle school. He was an old man, but he was really chill and let us eat food, cuss, and be on our phones on his bus. He only yelled at us when we were doing something that could potentially harm our safety. He even came out of retirement to drive us for our last year. Truly a legend.

As someone who is training to get CDL to drive city buses i have mad respect for school bus drivers. Unlike being a mass transit or truck driver, school bus drivers need like 1 million certifications and background checks, need to know so much more when it comes to driving, yet they get paid so little and have to deal with loud ass kids all day. They truly are the unspoken heroe of the CDL industry

I had a bus driver that the mean and reckless driver combined, the only thing nice about him is when he was wearing his top hat, he drove to 45mph and stopped 1 second later and sent everyone and everything flying, he turned on 45° angle turns at 40mph and said to us when we flew out of our seats "GET OUT OF MY AISLE" like we got on the aisle on purpose. I hated him we got assigned seats too. Also he crowded 3 kids in EACH SEAT, every seat had 3-4 kids? How he thought this was safe I don’t know, I looked it up and the stuff he did was ILLEGAL, he’s a Vietnam veteran so I guess that’s where he gets his harshness from. I hate him

My elementary school bus driver was the mean bus driver. Every time someone stood up, they were threatened to be kicked off the bus in a random neighborhood. His favorite phrase was SITDOWN!!!!. I still remember my pre-school bus driver though. Really awesome human being. Legit made it fun. My bus driver was also mediocre at best at actually driving: I never felt in danger, but we certainly did get into some strange situations while driving. One time, we had to go down a narrow residential street to pick up a student and ended up hitting something in our bus (or blowing up a tire or something like that) and were late for school. Also, those buses were pretty much impossible to navigate around residential streets: I live in Seattle, and if you look at satellite imagery you’ll see some smaller intersections have elevated circles with plants and yellow signs in the center of them. We call them roundabouts, differentiating them from traffic circles. The bus would just go over the curb half the time, and definitely knocked down one of the signs at one point. A third reason we were late once was when it was garbage day and we got surrounded on every possible side at an intersection by garbage trucks.

I think it was because it was my first time going on the bus, but majority of the people that were the bus, were my friends, and it was chill and lit in the morning pick up since it would always pick us up late, and the bus stop was near our old school so we would vibe there. If it was cold, or raining, we would go inside the school since the front office knew me, and some of my friends from elementary. Honestly, I'm the type of person who only hogs one seat because I literally keep on thinking, "Oh, there's literally two other rows of seats in front of me with nobody in them, surely they must be smart enough to take one of those!" And I kid you not, some people would try to sit by me, which was uncomfortable for obvious reasons, so that's when I came up with the idea of hogging the seat.
