(not so) fun fact for you: Burr introduces the sisters in the order they die: Peggy (1801), Angelica (1814), and Eliza (1854). On a lighter note, this song was originally written without the incredible harmonies at the end, but one day, Lin heard the "sisters" (Renée, Phillipa, and Jasmine) harmonizing in their dressing room, and he rewrote the song to have more three-part harmonies for them to show off with.

the line "Eliza I'm looking for a mind at work" is reference to the West Wing, which is one of Lin's favourite shows :)

I freaking love Lin Manuel Miranda! He did an amazing work, think he really outdid himself after In The Heights.... also I've been singing Moana's soundtrack the minute I got outside of the theather after watching the movie. He is really talented and it's amazing watching clips that give a little inside about how his mind works and how these songs came to life. It'll be amazing if you end up doing all of Hamilton. Also there's a album mixtape for some of the songs, would love if you could check out the Immigrants (We Get The Job Done) video ps. subtitles are encouraged as there's two rappers that speak spanish and some references need attention. As always, love the reactions in your channel AND your music, thanks for keeping sharing them with us!

As someone who has listened to this music from a singer’s perspective ( and KZbin knows how many reaction to Hamilton videos I have watched 😂), I am embarrassed to admit this is the first time I have actually stopped to listen to how phenomenal the instrumentals are on this song. I always listen to the vocals... ok if you need me I will be re-listening to the soundtrack the the thousandth time. Loved this!

Ahh...but those tight vocal harmonies are a thing of beauty. Actually, Lin-Manuel added the harmonies after hearing the ladies ad-libbing their voices playing with harmony.

I really appreciate how you notice and highlight the small things that add up to how hilariously, and (to most listeners) arguably unnecessarily, well produced the studio recording is. It adds dimensions to a composition/arrangement that is already next level and brings it almost on par with the live performance. The people who worked on this were clearly aiming above and beyond what they could get away with.

Satisfied!! Then Guns and Ships please! Omg both are epic. But you can’t leave out Reynold’s Pamphlet. The intro to that and outro are both transitions to and from the songs before and after it.
@karabelles51424 жыл бұрын
To piggyback on this, has to be Helpless and then Satisfied. Plot twist is more effective.

You need to watch the movie to get the full package. The sound, too, there’s much more kinetic energy driving the performance when they’re onstage. That said, the album benefited from production help by Black Thought and Questlove. Also, after Lin cast the sisters, they got along so well and sang together so well he just pumped more big harmonies into this song.
@JacobRestituto4 жыл бұрын
Oh wait, they produced the album?? That’s why I get this vintage hip hop feel!!!

Sure enjoy your educated reactions! Of course I love all things Hamilton so always interested in new insights! There are two groups of fans. Those that knew the mixed tape recording and those who know the Disney+ live soundtrack. There are nuanced differences in delivery of lines & emphasis. It took Lin Manuel Miranda 6 years to write this play and it has definitely set the bar high! The storytelling is next level! Keep Hamilton coming!

You should react to hamildrop "First Burn". It is a song told from the point of view of Eliza Schuyler, Alexander Hamilton’s wife, as a reaction to the recount of his affair in the Reynolds Pamphlet, in lieu of “Burn” from the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hamilton. First Burn" is the fifth song in Hamildrops and was released in April, 2018. This was the first draft of the song Burn sung by Eliza in Act 2. It was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, produced by Alex Lacamoire and Mike Elizondo and performed by Lexi Lawson, Arianna Afsar, Shoba Narayan, Rachelle Ann Go, and Julia Harriman, who have each played Eliza in the show in various Hamilton companies.

There is one really great detailed decomposition of this song by Seth Rudetsky here on KZbin. He mentions lots of cool references, analyses the rhyming and musical tricks on how this song works and is also talking about the rythmical structures and the bass. Everyone interested can check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mampkoegnrJgha8

Love that you're reacting to Hamilton! More please! The production is amazing; Alex Lacamoire has worked with Lin-Manuel Miranda (the writer and composer) for years on many different projects, including this soundtrack) and the setup he had for the orchestra pit of the live musical is incredible.
