I really enjoy this upgrade! It makes the watch lighter, but keep it as the same strength of toughness, which means It can survive if being dropped from a higher altitude than regular one because less weight = less impact force. Also wearing a lightweight watch is also extremely comfortable I current own GA-2100-1A1 😅

Nice video, I would love to see next, the actual manufacturing process of the CCG cases and other parts. Maybe Casio don't want to show too much of their process, maybe is somewhat of proprietary desing and secret.

Just look up the Casio Patents (regarding placing the carbon fibres within the PEEK and injection molding the stuff back into smaller bezel formats than previous PEEK only bezels. They explain this detail.

The video is extremely well-produced, but the chemistry and physics that's being talking about is fairly basic. It explains how extremely strong carbon fibre under tensile load, so when pulled, but don't emphasise how extremely weak it is in other directions. This is probably what the use of a thermo-harder is for, so most of the strength seems to come from the plastic, but the actual properties determining this were left unmentioned. At most the carbon helps with keeping the structure together as the presumably more rigid plastic that would otherwise shatter adsorbs a shock. The softer outer layers acting as layered bumpers that take out most of the shock before it reaches the watertight inner structure and shatter-prone LCD module.
