I think that worrying is the biggest factor in aging. I have an uncle who never married, never had kids, always buys a new Corvette every four years, dates when he wants to, travels often, and just lives his life as he wishes. He’s around 70 but looks like he’s in his 50s. I had a cousin that was a worry wart always uptight about how people thought about him and watched TV news with a tendency to go apoplectic over every story. He always thought he had whatever sickness was currently in the news and was always very nervous about everything. He had a stroke and died before he was 50. I took a very demanding and ambitious curriculum in college and worried myself so much that I developed an ulcer. My dad told me to let up, calm down, and “don’t crowd the batters’ box”. I made an effort to stop stressing so much and, to my surprise, I actually improved my grades, decreased the pressure, and became healthier. I’m now 54, most people say I look like I’m 40 and I have no significant health issues. If I had continued on my former path, I doubt I would be here.

Aging is pre-determent by your genes but there are other factors that can accelerate your aging process such as 1- Alcohol and smoking 2- Not having enough sleep especially during the night. 3- Stress 4- Not eating enough fruits and vegetables.
@simarchhabra97662 жыл бұрын
Actually the majority of Aging is determined by an individuals lifestyle and not genes…… the biggest factor that contributes to aging is overeating and lack of exercise. And the best way to potentially slow down and even reverse some of the effects of aging is simply to eat less calories and fast on a regular basis. Dr. David Sinclair is the top scientist in this field and this is exactly what he recommends

There's a definite reason why he is concentrating on Intermittent Fasting as a way to rejuvenate the human body. In fact, my energy is still through the roof, no medical issues, just minor back pains which is inevitable. I read about Dr. Sinclair's book "Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To," very educative. There's no point increasing lifespan without. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. Sinclair believes that in the foreseeable future, it's possible for humans to live beyond 120 or even 150, without the frailty, diseases and disability we now associate with old age. See your result and tell the same experience.

Refusing to take medications will greatly help stop the aging process. If you survive, you will just live for the body to start working on you more hardly until you die. You can't defeat it. If you get away, it will just keep up and increase the pressure, until you crack. I personally have decided not to take medications, knowing it is pointless. Instead, I will check out whenever it happens, and the body can keep aging without me - if it can. I will be gone. I had a great life and knowing that there is no way back, only way to prolong being slowly more miserable, I think no point to stay.

Youthful skin is important I am guessing, but does our sweat possibly help with keeping the skin young...like certain sweat pheromones in someone's sweat possibly make their skin age less... greasy verses dry skin or maybe the sweat is like a lotion that keeps skin healthy and young looking? Just an idea

There are 100 trillion cells~ in the body 'reversing' ageing means many things. There must be a focus on WHICH organ to rejuvenate. We cannot for example make red blood cells "immortal" they are meant to die in several weeks time. The point should be WHICH cells should be immortal?

She thinks a build up of senescent cells drives aging, but its a side effect of aging. As we age protein production mechanisms shut down, so our bodies come to rely upon older, dysfunctional cells, because it finds it harder to replace them. Clearing them out is useful, but they'll probably just be replaced with more dysfunctional proteins. There is an easy way, and a hard way, to restore protein production in the aged. The easy way is taking a stupid drug all the time to keep protein production working, the hard way requires fixing epigenetic quality control via a gene called MOF(Myst1/Kat8) which has aberrant Acetylation patterns.

We can already slow down our biological aging, through moderate exercise, good diet habits, & living life with happiness. Personally, I think it's not a good idea to artificially slow down our biological age. Just seems unethical. Let nature do its thing. Don't try manipulate the laws of nature.

I disagree with you. By your logic, cancer treatment is unethical. Treating genetic disease would be unethical. Because both cancer and genetic diseases are “natural”. Almost all of modern medicine is “unnatural”. We should help and save people, and reduce their suffering wherever we can. I’m pro-science all the way
