Just Noob Nah that's a Native American language, and a small one on top of that, and maybe fictional (I never looked into it) on top of THAT. HOWEVER Native American languages are legendarily difficult to learn as a second language, hence the code talkers in WWII. Teaching a handful of Diamond Dogs Mohawk (or whichever) would be far more difficult than teaching her, say, Russian. Side note, why can't she just write stuff out? To be fair, you blatantly ignored that the functions you pulled out for Quiet are not performed by HER, per se, but by a symbiotic organism that replaced her skin and lungs. While the total energy requirements ARE bullshit, everything else IS plausible depending on what magical process the organism in question uses. In theory, all she would need would be a plausible is to be able to absorb 8.3 MJ (or 2000 kcal) of energy from sunlight and a few trace minerals from her environment. The bullshit comes out to be the energy requirement. The sun provides an illuminance of ~1.3 kW / m2. Let's make out math easy and assume her exposed skin has a total surface area of .65m2 that gives her a maximum energy input of 500W from sunlight at 100% efficiency. Assuming she spends 8 hours per day sunbathing she would be able to absorb 500W *60 sec * 60 min * 8 hr or ~14.4 MJ. However, the best solar panels on the planet operate at only ~20% efficiency and plants average ~24%. That means that she would need to be at least three times more efficient than a green plant at absorbing incoming radiation from the sun.

Quiets lungs are burnt to ash. Her insides are all kinds of messed up due to stuf that happens in the story before you recruit her. She didn't get these abilities until after that happened. Before she was just another soldier, but after she got all those abilities, some of which are the photosynthesis. Now we all know its all bs anyway and an excuse to justify a character design. Personally I'm fine with that, but this video only looks at that one claim when in order to deal with that claim you should also look at the other things that she went through to get there. Though that would be telling some spoilers for Quiets story, but it could be done in a way to not give away the overall story spoilers. at least not more than Austin already hinted at here.

The real issue isn't the fact that she can survive with taking energy through her skin. The real issue is the fact that she can sustain her powers that way. This is the list of amazing powers Quiet has: 1) She can dissipate into a puff of black smoke and teleport short distances. 2) She can turn invisible. Which by the way deflects sunlight in order to work, which would invalidate her power. 3) She can run at insane speeds. Faster than a car at the very least. 4) She can jump the height of a small building. 5) She has advanced reaction timing and depth perception. She is seen shooting the pilot of a fighter jet through the cockpit in mid flight. And she is seen firing bullets through spinning helicopter blades. She basically has bullet time eyesight. There is no way in hell these Parasites follow the Laws of Physics in any meaningful way. Water and sunlight simply cannot power these abilities. It'd have been better if they called it magic, at least it'd make some degree of sense.

Dead Or Alive Modelling Agency The in-game cutscene camera says othetwise. It so clearly focuses on Quiet's clevage and ass at times for no reason other than sex appeal. One could make the argument we're seeing fron Snake's viewpoint, but A: It rarely does this, so doing it now it very obviously suspisious, and B: Just because she's a badass doesn't mean it's still not exploitation. The designers used her body to exploit the male gaze to make people like the game more so it would sell more. They very clearly made her a sex-symbol (just because she's badass doesn't mean she isn't also a sex symbol). The best proof of this is the only time we see a topless or half-naked man in the game in an even remotely sexy light would be if you equip your character and your guards in swimsuits. This is an optional thing that's relatively hidden and not in-your-face about it. Quiet, however, is ALWAYS in sexy attire, the cutsenes focus on her body, and the only time you can actually cover her up is if you unlock one of her cosmetic costumes (of which only one doesn't have her boobs exposed and jiggle physics active) and it costs credits to start a mission wearing that, meaning that you have to pay in-game currency to make her decent. It's exploitation. There is no sexified, half-naked male that the camera focuses on in a sexy way, and the only decent clothing she has is unlocked after you've built up her relationship meter, and it's one of the later unlocks at that. Just because she's a badass doesn't mean it's not exploitation. I think you're trying to make the argument that Quiet dresses like that because she doesn't care and/or is confident enough to deal with the inevitable gazes she gets from the men on Motherbase and Snake. Lenny Face Using food is a terrible analogy. See, the problem here is the fact that the graphics are simply outdated (at least in the case of the first two "Solid" games). They're PS1 graphics, back when 3D models were basically brand new for video games- you can take literally any N64/PS1 game and compare it to any game made past 2008 and people would obviously say that the newer one looks better. It seems like a stupid reason to completely dismiss a game, though. So what, the game looks like crap and that puts you off completely? Whoopdie freakin doo, I guess you'll never be able to properly try classics and games that have been hailed as revolutionary just because you can't handle it when the game doesn't practically look like real life. I guess my point is, graphics shouldn't be a primary factor in judging a game and they definitely shouldn't be the only thing you consider when looking at a game. Its fine to not want to go back and play the other games, but because they are all a part of an interconnected story, you have no justification in saying the plot makes no sense and is overblown. Its like opening a book and reading two chapters from the middle - not a lot is going to make sense. There is also an awful lot of information about the parasites in the game and in quiet that you seem to just not know - if you want to fairly call it nonsensical, you'd have to account for all the information the game actually gives, which you evidently didn't, because the game does clearly state that its not Quiet herself performing photosynthesis and etc, its the parasites and symbiosis they have, which makes all this infinitely more plausible at the least, and you have no way of disproving as there isn't a real world equivalent of the parasites to compare the ones in game to. This isn't supposed to be a justification for Quiet's attire saying that there's no way kojima had her the way she was for sex appeal, this is just the proper clarification of game lore and story you ignored. And if they are going to put in some shameless sex appeal, isn't it also fine to simultaneously be justified in the plot too? Not just upheld by some weak reason either, but a key point that the entire story of the game hinges on.

The video doesn't even discuss the topic of skin. It's all about energy and nutrition, both of which Quiet's human inside still depends on. Besides, photosynthesis, being the plant version of breathing, doesn't provide energy on its own. And even if it did, it would still take an inordinate amount of solar efficiency to pull it off. For reference, a single square foot of typical solar panel has roughly the solar-to-watt efficiency of 14%, which means it produces about 10 watts. It takes ~2300 watt/hours to equal a 2000 Calorie diet, which means you'd need 230 square feet of solar panel to equal a human diet in energy. Fourteen percent, incidentally, is around the average efficiency rate of a plant. Beyond even _that_, there's the sheer amount of mass that needs to be absorbed. You think all that brown stuff that you crap out every day is just food? No. Like urine, feces is the waste products of the entire body. Old cells that don't work anymore make up a huge part of feces, just like old water that cells can't use anymore make up a huge part of urine. Your body needs physical nutrients to make new cells or your body would slowly crumble from the inside (ie, starve). And, as explained in the video, you simply can't gain that kind of mass from the air. You need to find a much more efficient way of intaking it, and the way almost every organism on the plant has evolved to do this is to eat.

She went under parasite therapy after being burned from rubbing alcohol at the hospital. the parasites gave her superhuman abilities like speed, perception, durability, longevity, phasing, invisibility and healing factors, so since she was badly burnt, the parasite restored her physical appearance but her internal organs are basically dead. She survives though photosynthesis, breathing through the skin, eliminating the needs for food, drinking or breathing through her lungs. That's basically her powers.

3000Shog There is a fundamental difference in the make up of animal cell structure and plant cell structure. A mammal cannot use photosynthesis because the difference in plant cellular structure is so different to animal cellular structure. Evolution occurs between generations. A single organism cannot evolve during it's life cycle. Sexual reproduction is evolution. Evolution is not linear, nor does it always create improvements in an organism. To combat Malaria in the African continent, human evolution incorporated sickle cell anemia as a mutation. Those born with sickle cell anemia die off quickly, and those with healthy blood cells are very susceptible to becoming infected with Malaria. However, if a person is carrying the genetic trait for sickle cell anemia, but does not express the mutation, they are essentially immune to Malaria. The problem is, carrying that mutation will adversely affect offspring. Offspring have a large chance of being born expressing the full sickle cell anemia mutation and thus die off quickly. Those without the unexpressed mutation are easy targets to contract Malaria. Those who carry the sickle cell anemia trait, but don't express the genetic mutation survive because the infection cannot sustain itself inside their bodies. They continue to produce offspring. It takes at least five to six generations before a new trait can be expressed in the genome of a population.

The character of Quiet is a tried and true trope of Japanese storytelling: The overpowered/nigh invincible BioWeapon. She is like The Guyver, Evangelion Units, or Zeriam. They all are the creation of far flung fictional pseudo-science attempting to explain why that particular bioweapon can exist. However, in reality these things simply cannot exist. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Japanese trope of nigh-invincible bioweapons, but it's pure fiction.
