Man... this show was so great, I remember watching it all the time back then. there was such an honest charm about it. None of the people on the show seemed manufactured, they all just seemed like real people just sittin' around and talking about Tech stuff. Yet, they were still able to keep a level of professionalism about it all. One of the best shows on TV during the early 2000's.

I miss the old TechTv and of course the screensavers. In a house growing up where my old man hated seeing me take apart old computers. These guys made me feel normal.

Even my lovely bride of 27 years LOVED 'The Screen Savers'. Just playing these old KZbins of this show had her say how she missed Leo and Pat. They made computers FUN for those that were not tech savvy at all...And they whetted the appetite of those that were tech savvy... I miss this show a lot. It got me through much of the Bush years....

And yet we all know how it turned out. It's so sad... Like a shred of something essential has been torn from my soul. And late at night... I sometimes wake up, and I could swear I hear the screen savers music playing. I turn on the TV.. Only to again be flooded with proverbial post-fallout G4TV crappage.

They messed up multiple times. I had Time Warner and they messed with G4 after it merged with tech tv then switched to Dish who then took G4 off entirely not that long later. I don't even think we had the ability to get Comcast way down here in the south. They kept blaming Time Warner and Dish Network that is was their fault when it was really Comcast who just wanted more and more money and the other guys didn't wanna give in. So I missed all the very late into the 2010s Xplay and G4 programming. Although when I look back it looked like all I really missed was Xplay. I saw attack of the show early on though. I don't remember the exact years I missed g4 but I do know it was in the 2010s. I liked the new screen saver show Leo and Pat did for a few years before they randomly stopped it in 2018 (I think). I was watching every episode too. Ah well. This entire Era and crew is gone (onto other stuff) so it's never coming back now. G4 is back (sorta) but Adam is most definitely a clone and not the real Adam..oh boy what happened there. There is no way those two Adam's are the same. Unless he got brainwashed.

I gained a plethora of knowledge & entertainment from tech tv's programming and believe that many people today have missed out on so much! Leo's TWIT podcast has reminded of the old tech tv days but is just not the same. I pray Leo is serious about creating a show like TSS on TWIT!

While its sad at this whole G4 TechTv merger happened, I think it's ultimately a good thing that it happened. Since they got rid of TSS I've watched G4 tv maybe 3-4 times, but between Rev3 and TWiT, I get my fix of Leo, Kevin, Patrick, Sarah, and Alex, plus a whole bunch of people I have never really seen on TechTV(no Dan or Yoshi :(). Plus Leo said he wants to make a show in the new TWiT studio that's similar to The Screensavers. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for these guys

We got the best of both worlds Leo went on to create the TWIT network and I got AOTS + Olivia = win win. I do miss the screen savers and I think they should have at least one reunion show on the old set in fact the screansaver could lead into ATOS and complement it quite well but that's never going to happen after all the shit that went down after the merger.

This was one of my fav shows back when I started watching TechTV 8 years ago. They had some great programming- Screen Savers, Call for Help, Unscrewed...hell, they even had decent anime on there. When the merger was announced, I thought it might bring some good, but in the coming times, everything started to go downhill into the cesspool of regurgitated garbage that they show every day now. TechTV at least had fresh content just about EVERY DAY. Comcast ruined it, and it disgusts me.

The concept of "Tech Special Agents" in the opening had two other versions during those six years. I think Leo's "The New Screen Savers" tried to run with the "Tech Agents" concept in the opening - albeit on Segways.

@abehammy Yeah. The new studio is AMAZING. Can't wait to see what Leos office looks like when it's 100% done(it's mostly done, I think they're putting a big TWIT logo behind him like what's on the round-table set). Idk if you saw the twit special of the switch, but they actually have in a display case thing the last remaining piece of the screensavers set, a rubber bolt or something from one of the arches

I watched The Screen Savers every night on (now defunct) TechTV. Fresh Gear and TechLIve were also great. Comcast did the opposite of what they should have done: keep TechTV and merge SOME of G4 with it. Xplay is the only thing on there that gets an occasional glance from me. I miss my TechTV.

Tech TV was a cable network that was probably ahead of its time. It is kind of sad that most of the programs from the original Tech TV are no longer in production. X-Play is the only major TV show from the original Tech TV that still remains on G4.

I was fairly new to techtv, before the merger. What other shows were there? I remember Electronic Playground, Screen Savers, some anime show and some docs. Also, was Screwed and Icons programs in Techtv or G4?

Wow!I couldn't of put it better myself.I go back to the ZDTV days also and learned so much about how to use computers before I actually owned a computer.They had great hosts who helped with general knowledge type computing.I miss it to this day.I never understood a channel entirely geared towards games.They lost the other side of the market of PC users.The Screen Savers,call for Help....RIP.

@nightmarecivic Incase you didn't know, they both host podcasts regularly. Patrick is on the Revision3(along with Kevin Rose and a few others) network, and Leo runs the TWiT network(Sarah Lane and a few others from Techtv are hosts). I think between the 2 networks, you pretty much get the same quality of shows as there was on TechTV, plus TWiT is moving to a new bigger studio and Leo was saying how he wants to make a show thats like how TSS used to be

I literally want to have a funeral for techtv and hold Comcast responsible for murder. This show was always a good source of information and helped anyone with computer trouble. I think that due to the loss of this show, Apple computer sales increased. I wont dodge the truth, Windows and pc's are hard, but shows like this helped out alot. RIP tech tv.

Im 20 now, I remember looking a Tech Tv when I was 10 I loved when they showed all these cool things and now im 20 and all I see is stupid crap like COPS no one cares about COPS, I still remember that show about some guy playing some online game and some Bear on the game he talked to that Ran away when he hurt it's felling that was so funny but I can't even remember the name of that show now. Thing the bear name was barney.
