You dined in the San Pedro restaurant part, the statue being San Pedro. The part of the restaurant that had the glass windows looking down into the valley, well you get the most fantastic breakfasts there and in the afternoon their cakes and ice creams are to die for. Sadly it’s all closed up because of Covid which is such a shame, really hard to get evening bookings in the past sometimes, it’s a favourite place for the locals too. Oh and they also host wedding receptions. You can also buy their famous bread, which you were eating and take it round to the back and they will pop it onto their cutting machine for you. So glad you enjoyed being in Los Realejos and this fantastic place.

@@FreddieDobbs I did mention a while ago most of it was still shut. That's a double edged sword as you found it was very quiet. When it's fully open it's a real tourist trap and swamped. Looks like a beautiful place to visit and enhanced by the film star drinking history! I'm not sure if you absolutely located the spot but it seemed around 23:00 or so you might have. A local had they been available might have been able to guide you to the very spot where McQueen, Miles and Connery got blitzed. I'm afraid we'll just have to imagine what they were talking about but that's part of the fun. Great camera work as usual Monika and suitably enthusiastic Freddie guiding us round. Suprisingly little of the motorbike but that's what it's for - getting you there and enjoying the ride there and back. More of this area I think.

Great vid, Freddie. This time I have something funny to note. At 9:45 you say "right under your nose", and on the right edge of the picture you see a yellow flowering shrub called "angel's trumpet" (Brugmansia). The smell is pleasant, but is quite unhealthy for people with heart problems. Therefore, one should not have this shrub "right under the nose". :-) I look forward to your further adventures. Greeting from La Palma.

When you come back to Los Realejos, you sould take the road TF 342 that is the route that I take with the TITSA's green bus, that route goes through the highest villages in the mountains and there is a viewpoint called "El mirador del lance" from which you can see the entire valley of La Orotava and los Realejos, there is a statue there of Mencey Bentor, a Guanche who preferred to die rather than submit to the Spanish conquerors, That road ends in los Realejos. You sould choose a day with good weather to enjoy the trip

I saw all your videos about Tenerife and, don´t worry, you are far from done with the musts. I´ve living here for the last 23 years and I tell you, most interesting sites are never found by tourists. I´ll love to see your next findings. PS: Don´t know if you didn´t find them or didn´t make to the final video, but I missed a few interesting spots in this place... the farm animals, the via crucis walk to the chapel in the hill, and my favourite place to eat, the square behind where you first met a peahen, a open air terrace where all kind of birds free-range. If you like that colonial vibe, old La Laguna and Puerto de la Cruz should be in your short list.
