Kirsten began supporting DGR, not only because of her love for riding and her love of community, but because of issues that it represents.
She is riding for the men in her life, and she continues to spread that message throughout the community. Kirsten will don her finest , and take part in the 2019 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride with her community.

Men’s health is something that often gets overlooked these days with all the radical movements casting aspersions on the Male persona. The DGR movement is addressing that through one of the coolest mediums men love to associate with; Bikes. Keep it up guys.

As a man who has battled depression AND anxiety for over ten years, 3 different doctors and countless meds, outside of my faith, riding has been a huge coping tool. I absolutely love it on the good days. And the bad. Here in canada we have one called "The Ride For Dad". It too is in recognition of mens health. Thank you for doing this DGR. Ride on. Ride long. Ride safe.

I 100% agree with her statement. I moved to Houston in 2014 and took me a approximately two years before calling Houston my home and it took motorcycling to fall in love with the city. I drove my motorcycle all around the city and fell in love with the beauty the city had to offer.

Great little film. New York looks amazing place. Sorry for the loss of your friend. I've been through it myself. That's wy I'm doing the ride this weekend. I've wanted to do it for couple of years, but with work and other stuff going on. So I'm looking forward to it this weekend. And when I'm on my bike. I will be thinking of all my friends and family that I've lost over the years. Through cancer and suicide. Take care of yourself and all your friends. From across the pond, Bournemouth, England. Hope you all have a great ride. Love life and live life. 👍 🙏

I love the cause that The DGR started out to support, but I really don't agree with this year's decision to make it so that people who don't ride the "Right Kind of Bike" couldn't participate in the ride. That doesn't really spread the message of inclusion, and alienated a lot of people who wanted to participate and raise funds for Men's Health.
@storiesofbike
@storiesofbike 4 жыл бұрын
The ride has always been restricted to styles of bike that fit the "dapper" theme. Both for style and safety of numbers. But those who really want to participate, but can't, can still donate and make a difference.

I NAMED My Son Colin, as well. He's 42. I have 2 Grandkids. I named MY SON, after Colin Chapman. Mr Chapman was the DECEASED builder of LOTUS CARS. Your FATHER, OBVIOUSLY appreciated FINE BRITISH CARS.

@@johnspencer2560 I'm 38 now and my dad is the one i got my passion for motorbikes and classic cars and from. My mum has no idea who Colin Chapman was and i think that's how he got it past her. I think he would like a lotus but he has a 1962 Triumph TR4 in british racing green. He's has it since i was at school and i doubt he'd ever part with it. I remember being pulled over once by the police when i was about 17yo and only just passed my test I was of course probably speeding or doing something daft as was the norm when your young and have a car full of girls. i remember the officer approach the drivers door and asked in a rather stern voice if my name was Michael Schumacher by any chance? To which in a rather cheeky tone i replied "no, its Colin Chapman" The officer looking less than impressed and a tad angry gave a rather sharp reply "very funny, get out of the car". It was quite an exciting time for me back then. I passed my test, got my first road car, my first seat in the back of a Police car, won my first set of points and the first clout off my dad. All in the course of a week.

@@happychappers8311 My Son is 42. He has a Wife, a Son & a Daughter. I've told him WHO he's NAMED for. He doesn't REALLY appreciate it. He's more interested in Baseball. I bought a '73 MGB NEW. I was in the U.S. ARMY. I HAD to have a way to get HOME, on weekends. The ARMY sent me to Germany, in '74. The ARMY also made me a "Lorry Driver." I've run 18 Wheelers, on 2 Continents. I was a "TRUCKER," for 35yrs. I was a Motorcyclist, for 50+. I DON'T know how MANY bikes I had. I had 3 BMWs. I had 3 Triumphs, a Norton & a FEW "Birmingham Small Arms." Of COURSE, I STARTED with Jap bikes. I've SURVIVED 6 M/C ACCIDENTS. John Fitzgerald Kennedy Jr is FAMILIAR with me. (He's NOT dead) My ancestors came from Wales, in the 1820s. I've ALWAYS liked to think, Diana Spencer was my "33rd Cousin." Her Dad's name, WAS John. Colin Spencer's Mother, went to be with THE LORD, about a year ago. She LEFT HIM the house I bought, when he was born, 42yrs ago. My DECEASED Father was in WW2. I GAVE my Granddaughter, a PIC of MY DAD, "in Fatigues"(Army uniform) IN WW2 GERMANY. I LOOK JUST LIKE HIM. He had NO FACIAL HAIR. I have a GOATEE. I've had it, since '75- when I got OUT of ARMY. I ALWAYS LIKED a LOTUS ELITE. I also LIKED the LOTUS 7. An ELAN, is OK, but it's TOO MUCH like an MGB.My DECEASED UNCLE, was in the U.S.NAVY, in WW2. He had a FEW MGs & a AH SPRITE & a 912 PORSCHE. My Dad had an XK 120 & an E Type Roadster. LOOK for "Captain Rambunctious," on KZbin. Look for "RED RENNA," also on KZbin. John F Kennedy Jr, IS ONLINE, as "Juan O'Saven," being interviewed by Linda Paris. BOTH John & Linda are FAMILIAR with my texts. JS

@@johnspencer2560 Your obviously a guy who like British cars/bike you must be Glutton for punishment, ha. You must be the only person in history to buy a british car to get you home. i can imagine you spent most of your weekends on base fixing it. My Grandad who sadly passed a few years ago now was in the Royal Navy during WW2 and my Grandma made artillery shells. My little brother looks just like him, were both Firefighters and he has the same love for cars but he's a bit of a football (soccer) nut aswell which is a shame but we can all be perfect, Ha. I never saw the appeal of baseball but then its not really that big outside of the US. I'm more of a motorsport guy and you can't beat the isle of man TT. It takes a lot of ball and a bit of stupid to do that.

@@happychappers8311 I've communicated with "Captain Rambunctious," & "RED RENNA." I was a "Lorry" Driver, for 35yrs. The U.S.ARMY had me in Germany, in '74-'75. I was FIRST, Based in Kaiserslautern. I used to take my Wife, to Paris for weekends. We went to Rome, in a VW Bus, with a BUDDY from my orginization, in the Army. Later on I transferred to ANOTHER Army co. On the North Sea. (Bremerhaven) Of COURSE, NO BABY while I was IN THE ARMY. Cathy & I, RETURNED to Southern California. We were RENTING a house, in Arcadia. Our LANDLORD said, "DON'T EVEN BRING THAT KID HERE, FROM HOSPITAL." We HAD to BUY ONE. Colin INHERITED that house from Cathy, when she died. He has 4 other houses AND a 2 location Retail Business. Colin Spencer ISN'T HURTING for CASH. My ancestors, came from Wales, in the 1820s. I like to think Princess Dianna, was my "33rd Cousin." Establish contact, with a guy named Wim Koorn. Wim is a FRENCHMAN who rides a Ducati. He works on OFFSHORE DRILLING PLATFORMS, in The North Sea. Tell Wim, "John Spencer sent Me."

Not a huge fan of this video... It’s like if a man were to speak at Babes Ride Out events (oh right they can’t do that because DOUBLE STANDARDS) talking about themselves the whole time and how they are such a good thing for women. At least DGR is more inclusive but the point about DGR is men’s health awareness and not about random women moving to a new city and making friends. I’m sorry for your loss and the harsh criticism but Jesus Christ these “discussions” are always so freaking one sided.
