A look at the one of Australia’s most prestigious rugby schools as the First XV navigate their way through the 2017 GPS Premiership Season. Nudgee College is one of Queensland’s powerhouse rugby nurseries with 40 GPS rugby premierships to its name, but an impressive legacy is no guarantee of success and viewers are taken inside the previously inaccessible environment of First XV rugby to witness the day to day challenges of the Nudgee First XV as they attempt to hoist the premiership trophy for the 41st time.
Nudgee College has assembled its top 30 rugby players for pre-season training. While the main focus is on physical preparation, coach Gerard Alexander primes the boys for 2017 with a lesson in history and tradition. The squad finishes its week long camp with a final trial against local GPS rivals, Churchie, with players vying for a place in the First XV line up for the first competition game of the season.
