Pedri's Stats by the end of the 20/21 Season: Turned 18 Years old in November. 73 Matches Played ~5500 minutes (avg ~75 mins per match) 6 Goals and 5 Assists Only Roberto Carlos(75) in 99/00 and Oscar(86) in 12/13 played more matches than Pedri in a single season, but both of them were over 20 when they did it.

He didnt play in 4 Premier League matches, Community Shield. Thats 80 for you + 7 games in Wolrd Cup or Friendlies

A hamstring injury will always be a recurring injury for as long as the player's career. A day does not go by where I wish and hope to see Pedri back at his best. Such a talent and maestro. Sad to see it happen to him.

People never bring this up even tho this was a very big issue during the 2020-2021 season. Players like pedri and son were playing every game and looked gassed by the end of the season. -I mean I imagine this might’ve contributed to sons back injury and lack of proper rest during the off-season. I’m hoping pedri slowly comes back and takes it slow since he’s been dealt a very unfortunate circumstance of having had so many miles already out on his legs at a young age. And he might end up as a cautionary tale for top clubs rebuilding with really good talent. -yeah Messi was there in that final season, but pedri still had to keep playing until he got injured.

It really makes me worried when you think about the player's longevity - Most of the guys you see playing until 35 did not play this much football at this young, and a lot of players that did that (Hazard, Rooney, etc.) burn out before 30. Of Course there are guys like messi and CR7 that have that longevity, but clearly they are few and far between.

It's unfortunate to see a potentially generational player to already to have a legacy of injuries. It's unfortunate that Barca's financial issues have turned to HEAVILY relying on young players (like Lamine Yamal for example this season). Along with the fact that Barca's medical team is absolute garbage and they have no idea how to deal with injury-prone players. (Look at Ousmane Dembele and Ronald Araujo). For me Pedri is easily one of the top U23 midfielders of this generation, he gets better and better by each season. But hopefully this isn't the case anymore though, he looks much healthier now and he recently gained lots of muscle so hopefully he's able to continue his career with less long lasting injuries. He recently came back after three months of being injured after having a great start to his season but I think there's enough quality and depth in the midfield so he'll be able to get rest inbetween matches (though knowing barca's performances rn, this seems highly unlikely)
