Geno was fine last year. The O-Line was so bad, Geno had 1) no time to throw and 2) the same old, stale playbook. Hopefully, both those things will be addressed. Even then, new scheme may cause some confusion in play calling and execution. But, Geno is not the problem.

For having a bad offensive line it's crazy how we were 10th for least sacks allowed.
@scottmelton30924 ай бұрын
@@kylegiarde guess Geno knew when to get rid of the ball then. He had some bad throws when it’s 3rd and 12 and the defense has a huge advantage. Get him 3rd and 5 or less and he’s as good as most. Protect long enough for the receivers to get some separation and he’ll be fine.

Seahawks WR corps was also tied for 7th in errors which amounted to 19% of incompletions coming from them. Add that Waldron's offense rarely used the play action despite Geno being over 80% in those plays.
@matthewphillips59114 ай бұрын
@@kylegiarde Yeah. Advanced metrics showed that Geno was not only one of the most pressured QBs but that the sacks he took he was rarely responsible for. I'm really hoping an improved interior o-line will give him a better shot.

Pass Protection will determine what version of Geno we get. Even the GOAT'S can't produce without that. Go Hawks

Interesting video. However, it seemed like there was pressure on Geno to improve this year, he has all the tools. Then you talked a little bit about the OLine injuries and the current OLine. It's my understanding that the Seahawks are ranked dead last in the league in Offensive line salaries. I'm not thrilled with this stat or with people who think Geno can just 'magically improve production' with nothing invested in the OLine. On the bright side it does sound like Abe Lucas will be ready for the season opener. I'll keep watching your videos once the pre-season practices ramp up. Go Hawks!

I don’t think Geno will “magically improve” but I do think with the state of this o line even being paid least in the league that he can play as well as he did in 2022 aside from an injury situation last year. It’s hard to ask a guy rated #1 deep ball passer in 2022 to go out and produce with 3 backup lineman every game including both tackles. But the last time Geno had a full season with a reasonably healthy o like in front of him, he was statistically a top 4 qb

There is no way to predict what rookie coaches will do but what we had the last couple of years wasn't great. I love what Pete did for the team but he was way out of touch and Clint Hurt was not a good DC. McDonald is a massive upgrade from a scheme standpoint. I also like the new OC and OL coach coming together from UW. Geno is a huge key but I think the new ofc will fit him better. I also like the potential of Howell over Drew Lock if Geno starts to struggle again but I think an improved OL will make Geno a lot better than last year. He faced a ton of pressure last season and like Goff, he just isn't the same under pressure. The talent is there to improve on last year's 9-8 record. It really comes down to injuries and execution. We will see.

Rushing defense and rushing offense were terrible. Both lines were terrible and that led to lack of possession time. That being said. Geno needed to step up his game and move the ball through the air, and that didn't happen.
