The second D-Day 1944 - The invasion of Southern France. In this video the story of the lesser-known allied operation Dragoon - the landings that took place on the French South coast two month after the allied landings in Normandy in northwest France. It was a huge operation involving 150 000 allied soldiers in the initial landings alone. The German strength defending was about 100 000 men.
The plan was that these landings in Southern France would draw German forces away from Normandy, but this did not happen.
