I love seeing how other sellers manage their business. While I don’t see myself ever doing this I appreciate you putting this out there for everyone to critique. When I first started selling I hit a wall when I was reaching like 80 item store. I was typing out everything I thought I needed on my iPhone notes 😂. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment, have a 600 item store. I use the sku/storage system bcuz I need to compact everything extremely nicely. I package all my items up after pictures as well so I can do the calculated shipping and forget about it 100% until it sells. The only con is the time it takes adding the sku, and unpackaging an item if you made an error you need to fix or someone asks a question and you need to open it. But if u take good pics it will rarely happen.

2500 items? Narrowing down your sourcing to higher prices items makes life so much easier. I lower prices weekly by 5% so I don't accumulate dead inventory. This seems like a good inventory system other than my start dates always change because delisting and doing sell similar helps with the algorithm. I make sales almost immediately after that. I don't do anything except keep like items with other like items. With clothing I pre-bag them and put sku numbers on them. Then they are protected from moths and they are ready to ship. Whatever works for you though. Thanks for sharing.

Dude, that's a terrible system where you have to sift through clothes by date of listing. The best system my friend is the simple number system. Every garment has a number from 1 to infinity.. You give every piece a number and you put the clothes in order from 1 to infinity. You don't need to make a video about that!
@cooperthereseller

That adds an extra step 2 steps to the listing process, adding the # to the item and adding that number to your sku, slows down the listing process, I prefer the date based system for speed, I can list more items / hour this way, the more you list, the more $ you make 👍

I do the Daily refinement thing with bags and boxes. On the boxes I have a dry erase label where I can put the starting number and the starting date for that number. On your date system, do you do the "Sell Similar" stunt to relist listing and freshen them up? If so, that is going to wreck a dating system, which is why I use both. I had an issue yesterday where the SKU didn't end up in List Perfectly and I had to look. I knew by the date the appx SKU number and was able to find it. Also, doesn't your system create a lot of dead space above and below? How many Items are we looking at? I'm at about 500 and have 3 shelf units with 15 boxes each in a small room 15x10
@cooperthereseller
@cooperthereseller 9 күн бұрын
I have around 2300+ items listed and another 100+ in a draft bank, I don't do end listing and sell similar, if I did I would copy the start date and paste that in the sku of the new listing, the racks and shelves expand and shrink throughout the year as stuff gets added and sold, racks expand and shrink more naturally so not a lot of dead space, the shelves have more dead space if I don't move any of the dates around, but that's an option if I want to, you do gotta make sure you have the right amount of space for your total items 👍

I could be wrong but I dont think Tek uses this system. Im pretty sure he hangs his stuff with other simliar items using a color scheme. Older stuff always going in the back. The date system is ok, but since you can't see the start date from the app, I would add the date as my sku and then you wouldn't have to take a photo of your screen to find it. That seems like extra steps which you're trying to avoid, according to your video and comments. Have you thought about doing that?
@cooperthereseller
@cooperthereseller 9 күн бұрын
You are correct the photo screen does add an extra step, but it flies by for me and keeps everthing in order for shipping very nicely. The big reason for this system is to skip the step of entering a sku, but you could add that in if you wanted to ship using the app. You could also pull up the ebay desktop version on your phones web browser to see the start date if you wanted to use your phone to pull packages wihtout entering a sku :)

That system doesn't work at all if you end and sell similar. Which everyone with long-tail items should be doing. Unless you're then going in and then adding the original start date to the custom sku. Which is clunky. It takes 3 seconds to type a sku into the custom sku and slap a sticker on a package. And i bet i can pull a pair of jeans ten times faster than you can. AND, your storage system takes up so much space and the clothes are hanging out in the open picking up air born dust and mold spores and odors.
